(duties TBA).
➔ Goal is to include student tutors at each table starting

place for students to complete work in that content area.

➔ Why the change?
◆ Feedback from both teachers and students saying it
is something they want to see.
◆ Stronger testing security.
◆ Complaints about noise while taking a quiz or test in
the Media Center.
◆ Originally, LnL was not designed to make up
tests/quizzes but we recognize the need for a space
to do this during the school day.

➔ Computer Lab 2146 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
➔ Manned by Counselors on a rotating schedule.
➔ A testing crate will be located in Victoria’s Office with the
other crates.
◆ Please place tests and quizzes into the appropriate folder
labeled by department. Completed tests will be placed
back into the crate, just like previous years. Remember
to come get your completed assessments!

6. Lunch and Learn REFERRALS
➔ What is it?
◆ When you formally write up a student for their
decision not to complete assignments.
◆ Students are then required to attend Lunch and
Learn to complete those assignments. If they do
not, there are further disciplinary actions such as
Friday Night School and/or ISS.

➔ When do I refer a student?
◆ When you exhausted your in-class expectations.
◆ Referrals should be completed in a timely manner.
● If an assignment was due two days ago, you have not used your
in-class procedures if you immediately refer the student to us.
● If an assignment was due two units ago, you are not referring
your students in a timely manner because the relevancy of the
material has passed.
◆ Remember the new grading guideline: If the summative has been
completed, the opportunity for completing formatives is (generally)
over. REMEMBER - FAIR & REASONABLE GRADING!

◆ Students who are referred to Lunch and Learn will be
located in the back corner of the Media Center.
◆ You will need to fill out a triplicate form and note
where missing work is located (either attached to
form, on itsLearning/Google Doc, or emailed) and have

◆ Students who skip Lunch and Learn will be
assigned Friday Night School so they have the
opportunity to complete the work they are
missing.
● Last year we had approximately 90 referrals
for skipping Lunch and Learn during the
second semester alone.

➔ You spoke, we listened: What is new this year?
◆ Referral days will only run Monday - Thursday. That will
leave Friday available for us to keep students accountable
and refer them to Friday Night School.
● If a student is referred on a Thursday, they will be
expected to attend Monday. Yes, it gives them extra
time to complete the assignment however, they still are
required to turn in work to us and attend LnL time.
◆ There will be a digital sign in/out so you will be able to
check attendance for the students you refer when needed.

◆ Students are expected to attend the following day at the
start of the lunch period.
◆ No passes will be sent out. We will need your help to
remind students during your 4th or 5th periods, especially
at the start of school.
◆ No phones will be allowed in the referral area. Students
who need technology will be given a Chromebook or
allowed to use their own computers.

12. Senior Saddled Up
■ Semester 1: November - December (1 session)
■ Semester 2: February - May (3 sessions)
■ Any senior failing a course will be required to
attend LnL in order to raise their grades.
■ If they have IE2, the student will have it
revoked for their assigned lunch period until
the grade has been remediated.

13. When will Lunch and Learn begin?
■ Lunch and Learn IN THE MEDIA CENTER will
start on Wednesday the 7th.
■ Lunch and Learn Referrals will start the week of
August 19th.
■ Forms will be located in the mailing room,
Pridgen’s office (2006) and Meinberg’s
office (1861).
