1. How did you
Attract/Address
your Audience?

2. My Target Audience
• The target audience for my music magazine is both men
and women between the ages of 16 and 24. I attracted
my target audience by advertising and including various
features that I know they will like. For example, because
my magazine is mixed-genre, I included a variety of
artists, such as pop, rock, country, rap and r&b, to ensure
that everyone had something to read in my magazine.
Another way that I would attract my audience would be
through adverts in my magazine, such as clothing
(Topshop/Topman/H&M/Forever21) or games
(Xbox/Playstation) as these are some of the things that
my audience like, along with the use of social media.

3. Front Cover
• My front cover attracts my target
audience firstly by using a recent
artist as the main image. My target
audience like new and recent
music, and so using a new and
recent artist will attract my target
audience. Secondly, I have also
listed various other recent artists on
the front cover, as well as artists
from different genres, such as
Calvin Harris, and then Sam Smith.
Furthermore, using information
such as ‘December Top Charts’ on
the front cover, attracts my
audience because my audience
would like a variety of music, that
would be in the charts, and as my
magazine offers different charts,
such as rock or pop etc, it means
that they can read any top chart
list that they would like.

4. Contents Page
• My contents page relates
and attracts my audience by
including young artists such
as Taylor Swift or George Ezra.
The use of a variety of fonts
will also attract my audience
because they will be use to
reading magazine articles
that use a variety of fonts,
such as bold ones,
professional ones, and iconic
ones such as the title of my
magazine. Furthermore, the
use of a variety of fonts would
address my audience well
because they stereotypically
like bold and exciting fonts
when reading.

5. Double-Page Spread
• My double page spread would
attract my audience because it uses
a variety of colours, with layers, boxes
and things appearing on the page.
This would attract my audience
because they like interesting bits of
information appearing on the page,
with key bits standing out in a different
colour. Eventhough it may seem
confusing, this is what people aged
16-24 will be use to. Furthermore,
another way I attracted or addressed
mu audience through my double-
page spread was through the use of
social networking sites, such as
Instagram. I included information and
a weekly ‘Embarrassing Selfie Time’ on
the page to attract my audience to
the magazines social networking sites,
therefore encouraging them to read
my magazine, and follow, like or
subscribe to various sites linking to my
magazine.

6. Overall
• Overall, I think that my magazine would attract my
target audience because of its large variety of
genre, information and features. I think that my
magazine suits the ages of 16-24, because it
includes artists that are new and recent, which is
what my audience want to know about.
