3. Decide if your PSA will be a poster or a billboard.
4. Project 2 Brainstorm Part 1 Due: Monday, 9/13 by 11:59pm Go to
the Brainstorm Ideas Discussion Board and follow the directions to
post your ideas.
Before Class Wednesday:
5. Study Slidedoc 2
6. Read Web Articles:
• “Design a Poster” or “Design a Billboard”
• Frame Messages to Motivate Users
• Create Color Harmony
• Use the Meaning of Colors
• Use Grids for Layouts
• Choose & Mix Fonts like a Pro
7. Project 2 Brainstorm Part 2 Due: Wednesday, 9/15 by 11:59pm. Go
to the Brainstorm Ideas Discussion Board and follow the directions
to respond to peers' ideas.
Friday: Work Day
8. Finalize decisions about the client, target audience, and message
frame for your PSA and begin drafting it.

Monday: Workshopping PSA – Bring what you have to class.
1. Peer Review PSA Part 1 Due: Monday, 9/20 by 11:59pm. Go to the
Peer Review Discussion Board and follow the directions to post a
draft of your PSA.

9/26 Wednesday:
2. Peer Review PSA Part 2 Due: Wednesday, 9/22 by 11:59pm. Go to
the Peer Review Discussion Board and follow the directions to
respond to a peer’s draft.
3. Go to Tools and Resources, decide which tool you will use to create
Screencast, and do a test recording. Follow troubleshooting steps, if
you encounter technical issues.
Friday: Work Day
4. Study slidedoc 3.
5. Write the script for your screencast design justification, practice,
and record your screencast.

Monday:
1. Peer Review Screencast Design Justification Part 1 Due: Monday,
9/27 by 11:59pm. Go to the Peer Review Discussion Board and
follow the directions to post the URL to your screencast.
2. Optional Draft of Screencast Design Justification Due: Monday,
9/27 by 11:59pm. Go to the Optional Draft Dropbox and follow the
directions to submit an optional draft for instructor feedback.
Wednesday: Class Canceled – Katie is at a Conference
3. Peer Review Screencast Design Justification Part 2 Due:
Wednesday, 9/29 by 11:59pm. Go to the Peer Review Discussion
Board and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s screencast.
Friday: Work Day
PROJECT 3 DELIVERABLES DUE: Sunday, 10/03 by 11:59pm. Submit your work as follows
to the submissions drop box located at the bottom of the project page:
• Deliverable 1: PSA, Submit an image (JPEG, PNG, etc.) or PDF file.
• Deliverable 2: Screencast, cut and paste the URL to your screencast in the
comment area of the submissions box or in as a separate document file.
To avoid a point penalty, verify your submission. Do not rely solely on bblearn’s
confirmation that your work submitted. You need to check that your work submitted
correctly. This means you need to go back to the drop box after submitting your work and
1) open your document files, and 2) check that the URL will work by cutting and pasting
what you submitted into a browser.
