2. Shows camera walk over to the window, therefore we know
it’s a person. Hiding in the dark trees builds suspense and
shows that this person doesn’t want to be seen. The couple
are shown sitting on the sofa with the TV on but they aren’t
watching it and are just fooling around with each other,
showing they won’t notice this person.

3. We see the couple turn off the TV and run up the
stairs, giving the person an opportunity to get closer
in the house. The camera is purely focused on them
which shows possibly he is using them as a target and
something will happen to them.

4. We can hear just vague sounds from outside like crickets
and a breeze, but as the camera watches the lit up room,
the light then goes out, and this triggers a very sudden
high pitch sting. This can make the audience jump, and it
starts building up that this person has a prime
opportunity now to get in the house.

5. As the person walks into the house, there is still the
light stinging noise in the background. We see a hand
reach into a cutlery draw and pull out a large knife.
From this we know that he will use it to cut something
or even hurt someone.

6. We see him pick up a mask from the floor, and this shows the
audience through the persons eyes exactly what they are
focussing on. We vaguely see a woman sitting in front of
them, and they use the knife to stab her, whilst we hear her
screaming. This shows that there will be many deaths in the
film like this, and we will see it coming but still find it scary.

7. We see a person walk towards the killer once he is outside
saying “Michael?” Then the music gets louder and the camera
slowly zooms out. It reveals that it was a boy who killed her, and
from how he is in a clown outfit makes him look very insane. The
knife is very big and it is obvious to the audience and the people
next to him that he has killed the person in the house. The
expression on his face is emotionless which shows that he is cold
hearted and just did it for his sheer entertainment.
