20. LOY KRATHONG FESTIVAL
is a Siamese festival celebrated annually throughout the Kingdom
of Thailand. The name could be translated as "to float a basket,"
and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant,
decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river.
21. • krathong - is a Thai term which refers to a piece
of banana trunk decorated with flowers, banana
leaves, candle and incense sticks. The word Loy
means to float in the Thai language. When put
together, those two terms simply mean
floating banana trunk festival.
