2. IDEA
There has been an ancient temple sat in a jungle for years, archaeologists discovered it a while ago whilst it
was protected by an ancient tribe, after the tribe saw the archaeologists didn’t pose a threat, they allowed
them to set up camp and analyse the temple. For years they tried to find a way inside without destroying
the structure. One day in the middle of the night, the ground starts trembling as the temple door
mysteriously opens. A couple a tribe members peer inside to see what's going on and are dragged in by an
unknown thing. This alerts the archaeologists so they radio to a team of armed soldiers that had set up
camp not far that the tribe didn’t know about. The tribe aren’t happy about this and threatened the
soldiers but after seeing their firepower they decided to stop resisting and let them in the temple. As the
troop enter and head down the stairs, the staircase shuts off sealing them inside. With no other choice
they push forward and then archaeologists from the outside hear muffled screams and gunshots from the
soldiers and also an unknown screech. Once the noise stops the staircase opens up as nothing has
happened. One of the archaeologists along with a few tribe members pluck up the courage to enter the
temple, as the head down the stairs the same happens again with the stairs, they light their torches only to
see the soldiers dead bodies and blood everywhere, however the creatures didn’t attack them this time, as
they made their way through long corridors and mazes all but one tribe members are killed off by traps.
They make their way to what seemed like an empty room but a button on the wall reveals a tomb behind a
hidden wall. The two that remained opened the tomb only to find the body of Ra which confused the

One important part of advertising is posters. For adventure films, there is
usually a similarity between them all, they have a large font with the film
title, so it is easily rememberable, and the background will be the main
setting of the film, this could a city, jungle, desert etc. Also, they will have
the most important characters in the poster too, this could be just the
main character, or a group of them, depending on how many there are in
the film. It will sometimes have a quote on it too, e.g. in the Journey 2
poster it says 'believe the impossible, discover the incredible' at the top.
5. RESEARCH
Another way to advertise a film series is also by releasing a game for it too.
The Jumanji films were a great success, and it was about characters being
pulled into a video game and being part of the game in real life. Virtual
Reality game maker the Void announced Jumanji: Reverse The Curse in
November, it is coming soon. This means you can put on a VR headset and
it will feel like you're a part of the film, playing the video game. It is
scheduled to be out at Void locations just before the film comes out. With
technology always becoming more advanced, making a VR game also
makes it ahead of the market when making video games about new films.
This also appeals to the younger audience more to make them want to
watch the film after playing a unique VR game about it.
6. RESEARCH
Total film is a film magazine about adventure, action, animation etc. The
front cover is like other film magazines too, how it has the main characters
that are standing out to make them clear, and with information about what
is inside the magazine, to get people to buy it if they're interested in the
film. They are usually quite colourful with a bold title and a different
background each time, depending on what the film is as the background is
usually the main setting for the film.
7. FINAL IDEA
Film title- Re-writing History
Audience- Any teenagers and adults from 13-60
Rationale-The research I conducted was important as it gave me inspiration and I learnt
what a good media product tends to look like and what is effective. This will ultimately
help me to create my game. I have realised the importance colour and titles can make,
the stuff I have researched has obviously been effective at promoting a certain media
product in the past so if I use these examples it should help to make my end product
effective as well which will ultimately help me get a better grade in the end.
8. COLOUR SCHEMES
As you can see
most of the colour
schemes are similar
with dark greens,
browns and a greys
which represents
the jungle very well
however the
creature image
stands out as it has
very dark and dull
colours which
represent the
nature of the image
and the place in
which the creature
is, inside the dark
temple.
12. CUTSCENE SCRIPT
The cutscene starts when the soldiers the archaeologist radioed arrive.
Tribe leader: “Hey hey who is this? Soldiers? We didn’t agree on these guys being here!”
Swanson: “Don’t worry, they aren’t here to hurt you, they are going to help with the temple”
Tribe leader: “Get rid of them now! All they will do is upset whatever is inside that temple”
*Tribe members pull at their spears and direct them at the soldiers*
*Soldiers pull up their guns and point at the tribe*
Commander: “Dr Swanson, shall we open fire?”
Swanson: “No no no! Everyone calm down, there is no need to fight we are all on the same side”
Tribe leader: “Ok ok, we are incredibly disadvantaged here, what are these guys here for?”
*Both sides lower their weapons*
Swanson: “They’re here to help me explore the temple safely”
Tribe leader: “Ok that’s fine, we don’t want any trouble”
Commander: “Dr Swanson, sir, we will scout out the temple, make sure its safe for you to enter”
Swanson: “Ok men you go ahead”
