LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR KARAN RAZDAN
I have been Karan’s Economics teacher for over three years and have got to know him very well.
Karan is a very hard-working and motivated student with a keen interest in Economics. He has
always actively participated in all class discussions, taken initiative to do presentations, discussed
and debated all contemporary topics with great enthusiasm and enjoyed exchanging ideas and
views on a wide range of topics.
I was especially impressed with Karan when he, along with his friend took the initiative to launch
the DPS International Economics newsletter. With great passion he did an extensive research on
stock markets, currency markets and the current recession and put together an impressive
newsletter. It was not only packed with information but also entertaining, colourful and designed
very well.
Karan’s family is in the restaurant business and he always tries to relate the class room concepts to
the real world scenario, in terms of sales, customer retention, expansion of the business etc. This
in a seventeen year old boy is especially impressive.
As an economics student, Karan has always been very hardworking. He constantly ranks in the top
2% and keeps on trying to get better at it. He is an intelligent and a smart student with capabilities
beyond imagination. As a result he’s also called “The Economist of DPS”.
In running the business club of our school, Karan did a wonderful job of inspiring students to raise
money for the Children’s Society of Singapore.
A keen photographer, Karan always enthusiastically takes photographs of all school events which
are more often used in the school magazine. In his final year, Karan was appointed as the school’s
chief photographer.
Karan is a thoughtful, caring and generous person who helps both his peers as well as his teachers
in what- ever way he can. I was very moved when on our sports day he voluntarily made the effort
of buying isotonic drinks for the participants who were sweltering in the hot sun.
As the present sports captain of the school, Karan has contributed in many ways, for which all the
teachers and students will never forget him. In the previous years he has held several school
positions such as house captain and class monitor.
The hidden actor and stage artist in Karan was revealed in our school production, ‘The Jungle
Book’, where he stole the lime-light as ‘Sher Khan’, the villain. With his deep voice and fierce
looks, Karan captivated the audience. Even the Bollywood actor and director, Anupam Kher was
very impressed.
Karan enthusiastically participates in all school events and helps out in whatever way he can. He is
adored by his peers as well as all his teachers.
I am confident that Karan will be a great asset to which ever institution he joins and will strongly
recommend him.
