2. Restoration of Specimen
Restoration of Specimen :-
Restore the colour of Specimen that fade away during the time . Means that ,
colour fade away naturally .
Resorting the actual natural colour of specimen by a method ,
That is called as Kaiserling's method .
3. Kaiserling Solution 1 .
(1). Kaiserling's fixative solution 1 :-
Formaline - 400 ml
Pottesium accetone - 60 gm
Pottesium nitrate - 30 gm
Water - 2000 ml
Fix the Specimen for atleast 2 week ( 14 days ) in kaiserling's Fixative Solution .
Note :- After the fixation was the Specimen gently in running water then transfer to kaiserling's Fixative Solution 2 for restoring the Colour .
4. Kaiserling Solution 2
(2). Kaiserling's Solution 2 :-
80 % industrial alcohol .
Fix the Specimen for few time , around Half to 4 hrs.
After during this stage , main colour of speciman obtain in Half to 4 hrs.
Note :- wash again in running water and placed in Kaiserling's fixative solution 3 .
5. Kaiserling Solution 3.
(3). Kaiserling's fixative Solution 3 :-
Formaline ( 40% ) - 5 ml
Pottesium accetone - 150 gm
Glycerol - 300 gm
Water - 900 ml
Specimen may be kept in this solution until the , speciman not ready for mounting or
presentation . Kept the specimen for 1 month while presentation not performed .
6. Preservation of Specimen
The final preservation stage is Kaiserling's fixative solution 3 . In which specimen
remain until it is well paramited .
Initially the specimen slowly sync to the base of the container .
7. * Presentation of speciman :-
The specimen is mounted in glass JAR in medical Musium .
These JAR's are cylindrical shaped and with Lit ( ढक्कन )
Note :- Now a days prespers JAR are used . These are made of plastic .
prespers JAR's advantage is , these are completely field with mounting solution .
The specimen can be attached with support plate in the JAR . And these are light
weight and strong . ( Didn't brick like glass ) .
8. Preservation Solution
# Preservation Solution :-
Formaline ( 40% ) - 40 ml
Pottesium accetone - 100 gm
Glyceral - 200 gm
Distilled water - 1000 ml
The p.H of preservation solution is maintend at 7.0 with Di-Sodium hydrogen phosphate .
9. Organization / Orientation / Labelized the
specimen :-
It is necessary to located and Labelized the specimen for relavent information .
Specimen can be classified by the anatomical system .
# Numbering system :-
C - Cardiology = C1 - Heart = C1.1 - Arteries
R - Respiratory
S - Skelton
This is followed by a point and the numbering indicate the disease process .
