11. CAUSES OF ROAD ACCIDENTS
Unhealthy competition
Reckless Driving
Over Speeding
Unskilled drivers
Night Driving & lack of lighting
Design Defects of Roadway
Unsafe Lane Changes & Wrong-Way Driving
Pedestrian movement & Animal Crossings
Overtaking Tendency
Forced inhuman driving
12. UNHEALTHY
COMPETITION
The Bangladesh Road Transport
Workers’ Federation (BRTWF)
recently stated that the
unhealthy competition that
exists among transport owners
for maximizing profit in the
shortest period of time is
largely responsible for road
accidents. On April 3,2018,
Rajib Hossain, a third-year
student of Government Titumir
College, lost his right hand after
it got stuck between two
speeding buses trying to
overtake each other in the
13. RECKLESS DRIVING
If you don’t drive carefully,
and you may end up in a
needless car accident.
That’s what often happens
to reckless drivers who
speed up, change lanes
too quickly ,or use cell
phones while driving.
14. OVER SPEEDING
It’s the major cause of road
accidents .If the drivers can
control speed 90% of
accidents will get reduce.
Most of the Bangladesh
drivers ignore the speed
limit and drive 10, 20 and
sometimes 30 mph over
the limit. Speed kills, and
traveling above the speed
limit is an easy way to
cause a car accident. The
faster you drive, the slower
your reaction time will be if
you need to prevent an
15. NIGHT DRIVING & LACK OF
LIGHTING
Driving in the daylight can be hazardous,
but driving at night nearly doubles the risk
of a car accident occurring. When one can’t
see what’s up ahead he/she don’t know
what to anticipate as he/she drives
towards it. As the sun goes down, your
awareness of the road and cars around you
must go up.
17. RECOMMENDATION FOR
SOLUTION OF ROAD ACCIDENTS
Traffic management ,rules & regulations must be impressed upon
everyone from drivers and passengers to pedestrians that safety
comes first.
Both the person behind the wheel and the person on the road are
responsible because safety is a joint responsibility.
Government should establish the rule of law
Including road safety issue in textbooks
Finding alternatives to road transportation and emphasizing on
waterways and rail communication
Constructing new rail lines connecting different regions
18. RECOMMENDATION FOR
SOLUTION OF ROAD
ACCIDENTS
Banning local transports on highways
Turning all highways into four-lane roads
Developing improved road network and repairing and maintaining
them properly
Banning use of mobile phones while driving
Introducing technology to control speeding on roads
Stopping unlawful car parking
19. RECOMMENDATION FOR
SOLUTION OF ROAD
ACCIDENTS
Examining drivers’ qualification and ability before issuing license
Making footpaths occupancy-free
Introducing dope test system for drivers
Preventing competition between drivers on roads and highways
Recruiting drivers with fixed salaries instead of the current trip-
based agreement. In order to prevent overwork and fatigue of the
drivers
20. RECOMMENDATION FOR
SOLUTION OF ROAD
ACCIDENTS
Not more than 5hrs driving on highways, PM orders
In order to prevent road accidents in the country, Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina gave several directives to concerned authorities on
june 25,2018 which include a restriction on drivers plying their
vehicles on the highways five hours at a stretch.
21. CONCLUTION

effectively and establish the requirement recommendation for
solution of road accident efficiently we firmly believe that we get a
safe and sustainable roadway for our better, safe & comfortable
movement.
