Process Engineer, Jif Peanut Butter Plant Engineering/R&D (January 2016 – August 2016)
- Created an Excel calculator, based off an energy balance, to quantify rate of brine required to cool a specific rate of product
- Designed and implemented changes to alleviate back pressure and improve the product brine cooling system
- Designed and implemented an improved process to increase the amount of product to be recycled, ~$45,000/yr of savings
- Designed and implemented additional line capability for process flexibility, reduced product full inventory time
- Increased sustainability and technician safety by installing noise reducing equipment
- Completed a mass balance to calculate percent recycle of peanut butter, became a predictive tool for quality assurance
- Led a research project by conducting trials, collecting and analyzing data, presenting results,and providing recommendations

MATLAB Programming Project November – December 2013
- Utilized the programming capabilities of MATLAB, to communicate with an Arduino microcontroller model train set
- Communicated results in an organized notebookto be presented and contributed to writing code for operation of the train
- Train operated efficiently: increasing/decreasing speed from 170 to 255 degrees/second,opening/closing the gate,and
illuminating LEDs after setting off a break beam sensor(a value of 1 in binary was returned)
Nanotechnology Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) Project January – April 2014
- Honed microfluidic concepts to design an efficient Lab-on-a-Chip to determine fluorescein concentration through a binary system
- Developed LOC designs through SolidWorks and determined effective injection methods for proper concentration readings
- Effectively altered initial design based upon faults and determined a calibration curve by testing known concentrations
