2. Big Bazaar is part of Future Group founded in
2001 by its founder and Group CEO
MR. KISHORE BIYANI .
Big Bazaar is a chain of hypermarket in India.
The first set of Big Bazaar stores opened in
2001 in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
In 2008, BIG BAZAAR opened its 100th
store.
There are 214 stores across 90 cities and
towns in India covering around 16 million
sq.ft. of retail space .
Big Bazaar offers a wide range of
merchandise including fashion and apparels,
food products, general merchandise, furniture,
electronics, books, and sections.
3. The store of Big Bazaar, where I have
done internship, is situated in Maruti
Mall at KIIT Square,Patia ,
Bhubaneswar.

4. To study all the visual merchandising
elements and processes.
OBJECTIVE
5. • Visual merchandising is the art of presentation, which
put the merchandise in focus.
• It educates the customer and create desire to buy.
• Visual merchandising leads to impulse purchase of the
product.
• It is exterior and interior Branding.
7. Accept, hold, stock and show merchandise.
Used in window displays, on top of counters, within
floor arrangements.
Contribute to store brand image and ambience.
Expected to last a long time.
20. Mannequins are used to highlight the unique collections of
the store.
Mannequins display the latest trends in fashion and
influence the customers to buy the particular merchandise.
Mannequins attract the customers into the store and thus
increase the revenue and profit.
Mannequins are also responsible for up selling at the retail
store.
21. There are three different types of
mannequins :
Full bust
Leg form
Half bust
25. Everyday many people came only for visit at Big Bazaar.
The foot- falls of customers are good at Big Bazaar, Patia.
Mostly middle class family prefers Big Bazaar.
Customers come at Big Bazaar because it gives the huge
discounts and offers.
During big days (5 Days Mahabachat), it has huge crowd of
customers and the sale is very high.
26. Team members sometimes do not pay proper attention to the
customers on the floor.
Sinages were not maintained on the floor by team members.
There were more than 10 cash counters at the store but they
didn’t open every day. All cash counters are open only on
festival season or on the mega offers of Big Bazaar.
The collection of vegetables and fruits are done from local
markets and local farmers.
27. Review of everyday discounts/offers at signage whether they
are updated properly or not.
Signages should be displayed properly on the floor and near
the entrance gate.
More security gadgets and checks should be there to control
thefts and employees working.
Availability of products in each size should be at the floor.
At least 6 to 8 cash counter should remain open everyday to
avoid crowd at cash counter.
