How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?

2. Research & Planning
We used various technologies in order to construct, research
and plan our project. The blog served as a way to collect and
record our progress giving us the opportunity to look back and
work on our project over a long period of time. We sectioned
our blog into three different production stages, being, Research
and Planning, production and evaluation. During research and
planning we used the internet and other sources to research
our chosen genres, teen and documentary. We collected
information and posted it into our blog. Written blog entries
were processed on word and then copied onto our blog. We
backed up our blog entries by using visual media, such as
images and videos, found mostly on Youtube, tumblr, and
google.

We used a 1.7 Megapixel Camcorder. We
did not use any artificial lighting as we
wanted our film to look as natural and
realistic as possible.
Other equipment that we used includes a
tripod, a DSLR, and the editing software,
Adobe Premiere, which we used to cut and
edit our mockumentary. Within Adobe
Premiere we used various tools the
software has to offer such as the use of
texts, fades, dissolves and artificial credits.
We used various websites such as sound
cloud to claim necessary resources. For
example the music used for the opening
and ending of our mocumentary.

8. Post Production
In order to create our print product we used DSLR
cameras and specific software to edit pictures and text.
We took various pictures for the movie poster and
magazine double page spread, experimenting with hair
styles, and positioning. All the pictures were taken in a
studio area with artificial lighting, including a fill light,
back light and key light. We used a tripod to steady our
camera and, we asked our models to experiment with
sitting down and standing up. We used AdobeBridge to
select our chosen images and then with these images we
moved them to Photoshop where we edited them, using
the saturation tool, crop tool and we edited the curves
and the levels. We subsequently imported them into
InDesign where we created the final layouts and added
our desired text. We published several of our chosen
images onto our blogs, calling them our drafts.
