Curious?
BAMS are known for being
studious but, here in our issue we
unveiled that BAMS can be more than
what other people thought we are.
Fifteen Shades of BAMS is a
magazine that shows we can also excel
in other fields. We can also be trendy and
fashionable with our corporate attires,
and we can also be humorous and funny
at times.
Want to know what is the best
color to wear for a job interview? Want
to laugh-off your problems for a little
while?
Maybe it’s the time to unveil the
real beautiful you.
Anti- Selfie Tabs
Is it Real? Is
it Real?
was scrolling down posts in my Facebook account where I saw lots’ of my
friends’ selfies when suddenly, I’ve seen this post that has a caption of “I need this!!”.
Suddenly, an idea came up that I need to write something about it.
I think everyone knows the term and the act of taking a “selfie” but, does anyone
knows the negative effects of taking a selfie?
In an article in Psychology Today, Doctor Pamela Rutledge says that taking selfies can
be harmful to a person’s
mental health and that
indulging in them is indicative
of narcissism (extreme
admiration for oneself), low
self- esteem, attention seeking
behavior and self-indulgence.
Okay, Anti-Selfie Tabs
doesn’t exist, not yet but, selfie
addicts do exist. Actually they
are escalating. Whoever
thought of that idea must’ve (or must not have) seen what is happening in our society.
Nowadays, we tend to capture first the happenings in our surroundings while we should
enjoy it by living in it.

year, BSBM
“Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.”
― Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger
According to Ms. Elena Obaldo an STI HRM student and cheer dancer the
key for an OMG beauty is:
How do you maintain your fitness?
-A healthy diet that’s full of vitamins, and nutrients.
How do you maintain your good complexion?
-By using lotions, creams and keeping my skin clean.
What advice would you give to us for proper care of skin?
-Don’t stay too long in sunlight. Drink more water, proper diet and
having enough time of sleep.
Interviewed by: Tracy
Espero
According to Mr. Marc Diamante an STI BSBM student the key
for an OMG beauty is:
How do you maintain your fitness?
-I barely go to gym because I was a bit skinny before.
How do you maintain your good complexion?
-I don’t apply any lotion and creams in my body but I only
apply Master (a men’s facial foam).
What advice would you give to us for proper care of skin?
What advice can you give for any guys who have an oily
skin?
-I wash my face with a cold water to lessen the oiliness of my
face by maintaining it
every day.
Interviewed by: Ellemae Ruth T. Dandan
According to Ms. Lai Centeno an STI HRM student and volleyball
player the key for an OMG beauty is:
How do you maintain your fitness?
-By proper exercise like jogging, gym, playing volleyball and
badminton
How do you maintain your good complexion?
-By applying kojic lotion and by visiting derma everytime
What advice would you give to us for proper care of skin?
By sleeping on time and eating nutrients foods.
Their beauty isn’t only external but also internal. They prove that beauty

ou might see him walking in the hallways, greeted by the students because he’s Kuya
Marc in the eyes of most students. President Lobrin in the eyes of his subordinates, of
the BAMS organization but, who is the real Marc?
Marc Lobrin isn’t just a student, a
president of the BAMS but also an
entrepreneur. I really found it amazing
because how can a 23 year old man like
him manage all those things? According to
him he planned everything right from the
enrollment. He started running for a lower
position when he’s in first year so that he
can test if he can handle that kind of busy
schedule and there, he mastered managing
his time through experience. He also said
that setting which are your priorities
between personal life, school and business
can help you manage your time.
The Man of Discipline:
Interviewed By: Cindy P. Peculados & Hazelyn Manalad, 1st
year BSBM
Written By: Ellemae Ruth T. Dandan, 1st
year BSBM
According to him, being a
president makes him happy because of the
student’s courtesy every time they saw him
walking in the hallways by the way they
greeted him is a really big deal for him.
He’s also an appreciative leader because of
his affectionate recognition for his
subordinates in the BAMS organization and
with the players. Even at the young age, I
can sense that he’ll be a good manager
because he keeps understanding his
subordinates who weren’t so active in serving
the organization, he even said that BAM’s
priority is to study so I understood if there
are some conflicts with the schedules that
causes them to put the org. aside.
Marc Lobrin is more than what we
thought he is¾he believes of the importance
of experience as a training for the real
world, respect, and humility that will help
you gain friends not foes. He believes with
that being smart isn’t the only thing needed
to be a manager, you must know how to treat and respect your subordinates right.

“First impressions Last”
According to Ms. Anj
Trinidad (An STI professor and an
entrepreneur), you need to make a good
impression without being too flashy.
Impressions are vital especially here in
our superficial country because most
employers tend to look for an employee
that “has a pleasing personality” or an
employee that has a “professional
look”.
So, what are the things that we should
consider to have that professional
look?
1. We should know what color suits
us because like what Ms. Anj
said earlier, impressions do
matter.
2. Black, grey and neutral color
corporate attires can give you that professional look but it should be solid not printed.
(What is the best color to wear for a job interview?)
By: Ellemae Ruth T. Dandan, 1st
year, BSBM
3. White attires are fine as long as you have a coat but, it doesn’t have much
“impression” (It’s too plain) unlike black and grey.
4. Last but not the least. Personal tip: Confidence is also vital to have that
professional look because even you’re wearing a designer’s clothes but
you’re acting stupid in front of the interviewer, all of your preparations will
turn into ashes.
We should give our very best in everything
that we do (especially in job interviews)
because it might be the only shot we got
to be employed.
onfessing isn’t easy as it sound. It’s like choosing between:
having more than what you have or losing everything that you
had.

here are two types of managers; the good manager and the
manager. The good manager not just want to earn profit, he also
wants to help his people improve while the manager, is the person
we often seek when we have complains.
According to Ms. Anj Trinidad, an STI professor and an
entrepreneur, a good manager must have the following qualities:
1. Respect to God
2. Integrity
3. Be a good leader and a good follower. You shouldn’t just be a good
leader. You should also be a good follower because that’s where everything starts. You
should comply so that your subordinates will follow your lead.
4. Love his/her work. You shouldn’t just consider working because you have

According to Ms. Filipina E. Manuel, another BM professor at STI, a good manager should:
1.be responsible. A good manager should be responsible in terms of work.
2. love his people. He should also have a heart not just a brain.
3. be goal-oriented.
4.have empathy.
According to Mr. Marc Lobrin, BAMS organizations president at STI and also an entrepreneur,
his idea of a good manager is that he/she must:
1. be disciplined
2. know his priority
3. be a good follower first
4. respect himself and his subordinates.
Being intelligent
isn’t the only thing
needed to be a good
manager. A good
character matters more
than good grades but
that doesn’t mean you
just sit back and
relax.

The good manager not just want to earn profit, he also wants to help his people improve while the manager, is the person we often seek when we have complains. According to Ms. Anj Trinidad, an STI professor and an entrepreneur, a good manager must have the following qualities: 1. Respect to God 2. Integrity 3. Be a good leader and a good follower. You shouldn’t just be a good leader. You should also be a good follower because that’s where everything starts. You should comply so that your subordinates will follow your lead. 4. Love his/her work. You shouldn’t just consider working because you have bills to pay. You should consider working because that doesn’t just give you a profit but also helps your find happiness and fulfillment in your job. ( 15ShadesofBAMS By: Ellemae Ruth T. Dandan, 1st year, BSBM
  • 24. According to Ms. Filipina E. Manuel, another BM professor at STI, a good manager should: 1.be responsible. A good manager should be responsible in terms of work. 2. love his people. He should also have a heart not just a brain. 3. be goal-oriented. 4.have empathy. According to Mr. Marc Lobrin, BAMS organizations president at STI and also an entrepreneur, his idea of a good manager is that he/she must: 1. be disciplined 2. know his priority 3. be a good follower first 4. respect himself and his subordinates. Being intelligent isn’t the only thing needed to be a good manager. A good character matters more than good grades but that doesn’t mean you just sit back and relax.
