The document discusses plans for a photo shoot for an indie rock band. It will take place in a rural area with hills and scenic backgrounds to match the warm, soft feeling of the band's music. The band members will dress in tight jeans, long coats, messy hair, hats and black shoes to reflect the indie rock genre. To look professional, the band cannot smile for the photos but rather need to appear serious, as seen in photoshoots of similar bands like Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire. Two potential locations are mentioned - Duck Pond in Seaton Carew for its country scenery and fields in Summerhill Nature Park for their variety of backdrops.
1. Planning of photo-shoot
For our photo-shoot we have an interest in using an area around
the town that is rural. We will use such tools as ‘Google’ maps to
help find location’s that meet our requirements. The certain
aspects to keep in mind for the photo-shoot are:
Initial Idea: We’re going to go for a typical 4 piece band photoshoot, the area we choose will be curtail; a quiet rural area, hills
and plenty of scenery in the background, this gives off a warm and
soft feeling to match the song and the music video we created.
Costume: To make it look as realistic as possible our costumes
will have to reflect the general apparel of the Indie-Rock genre.
This will need the attire of tight fitted trousers or jeans, long coats,
messy hair, hats and black canvas or suede shoes, which we have
found through our audience research and profiles. Meeting the
requirements will give the shoot a professional look and actual
depth to the images instead of just looking like a last minute shoot.
Emotion: In order to pull off it off we can’t have any happy and
smiley faces as it’d look childish and unrealistic, on research on
other bands photo-shoots they look pretty serious, and it does
genuinely work.
Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire are perfect examples of an IndieRock band and these photo-shoots are perfect examples on what
we want to refer to. The difference is, we’re not professionals so
we may face this challenge but if we gather a reliable crew, it will
work. With mounts of research on how to do this, we will be able to
achieve a good professional shoot.
2. We have to ideas in mind, the Duck pond around the Seaton
Carew area and the fields in Summerhill nature Reservation Park.
These two ideas are perfect for what we want we’ll test the both of
them to see which one we prefer.
This area is a possibility for the shoot, the Duck Pond meet so
much criteria for what we’re aiming for. The country scenery
matches the warm feeling that is given off by the song and the
music video we created, to shoot just on the edge of the duck pond
with our reflections in the water showing would be tricky but
amazing to pull off, with editing software we can edit the picture to
make it look and feel low key and really dark.
Another possibly for the photo-shoot we have is to go around the
Summerhill area in Hartlepool; in the area there is a big variety of
fields and good choices of scenery, to make sure we get the one
we want, it’ll be a simply trial and error until we get the perfect
match. What’s really good about the area is how long the fields
stretch on for; we will be able to manipulate this in our favour,
again in this photo-shoot we are going for a typical 4 piece shoot,
our costumes must reflect well on the genre and we are to give an
emotive shoot, a difficult challenge but we are sure it can be pulled
off.
