PAST SIMPLE
Experience:
Verbs: eaten – traveled – gone - drunk
Think about some experiences you
remember. Maybe a trip or food or situation
I have traveled to Nazca Lines.
I have drunk an exotic drink in Iquitos, a city in Peru
4. I have eaten “tacacho con cezina”. It is a delicious food from Peru.
When we talk about experiences, we use Present Persent.
The most important is the event (what happened). We
don´t mention the time (when it happened)
FORM:
Subj + have / has + verb in past participle + complement AFFIRMATIVE
Subj + have not / has not + verb in past participle + complement NEGATIVE
Have / Has + Subj + ever + verb in past participle + complement? QUESTION

attention to the red sentences.
Student A: Hi, ________________. How are you?
Student B: Hello, _______________, I feel good. Last year, I didn´t use to go out.
I used to stay at home watching movies. Now I have been
spending time with my friends and we have been going to parties.
Student A: Wow! I think having fun is good for people. I am going to start over that
life because I used to go out with my friends. I used to be
sometimes in parties ; and Now I have been only working, working
and working.
Student B: Well, Working hard could be dangerous for our health.
9. I have been spending time with my friends.
When we talk about long experiences that started in
the past but continue until now, we use Present
Persent Continuous.
