Performing Arts
It is a form of art in which artists
uses their voices, bodies or
inanimate objects to
convey artistic expression.
Performing Arts
It is different to visual arts, which
when artist use paint, canvas, or
various materials to create physical or
statistic art objects.
Three Types of
Performing Arts
 Dance
 Music
 Theater
Dance
It is define as regulated and deliberated
order of body movements. These
movements have aesthetic value
and are often performed accompanied
by music.
It is a universal form of art. It is
defined as the manipulation of sound and
silence. It blends the different elements
such as the Pitch, Rhythm, Dynamics,
Timbre, and Texture to create sound.

It is performed by utilizing different
instruments, vocal
and styles. It can be performed live
or recorded and can be prepared in
advance or improvised.

performing arts that often involves the
integration and combination of the
visual and performing arts.

each genre having its subcategory. Here are
some of the common music genres.

Art music is the umbrella term use to refer
to music that stems from Western Classical
Music.
It is usually presented and preserved
through written musical notations that
were developed in Europe.

Art music (alternately called classical
music, cultivated music, serious music
and canonic music) is a music that
implies advanced structural and
theoretical considerations or a written
musical tradition.
2. Popular Music
It generally refers to music that is
accessible and commercially available
to the public. It is played or
disseminated through different mass
media outlets such as radios, televisions
and the internet.

animated or manipulated by
a human called a
puppeteer.

tragic events and having
an unhappy ending,
especially one concerning
the downfall of the main
character.

It is a form of
theatre in which
music has a leading
role and the parts are
taken by singers

It is a form of theatrical
performance that
combines songs,
spoken dialogue,
acting and dance.

The story and emotional
content of a musical– humor,
pathos, love, anger – are
communicated through the
words, music, movement and
technical aspects of the
entertainment as an
integrated whole.
