The document discusses 5 types of teachers that should not resume teaching after lockdown: 1) Sycophant teachers who excessively flatter superiors, 2) Narcissistic teachers who are preoccupied with their own success and need for attention, 3) Dogmatic teachers who rigidly follow rules without consideration of others, 4) Apoplectic teachers who spread bitterness and anger towards students and others, and 5) Unhygienic teachers who do not maintain proper hygiene or cleanliness which could spread disease. The document advises being wary of these teacher types for the benefit of students.
2. It has been months since students and
teachers have been separated with the closing
of schools nationwide due to the pandemic.
But, there is a high chance that we are
approaching the end of this era as many
political institutions are considering returning
schools to their earlier existence with new
health conditions guiding their operations.
There are some teachers who need to adjust
their reputations and habits for the reason
that their students deserve a better version of
them. I hope you do not belong to any
category on this list and even if you do, I
believe you are not far from redemption.

3. Sycophant Teacher
This is a teacher that tries to get favour from
others, especially from their superiors through
insincere flattery. Do you know a teacher that
excessively compliments the boss at work
privately or openly, like during meetings? I am
sure you know one or two staff that can never
disagree with their superiors even when it is
obviously clear that a big spoon had been
mistaken for a spade. One more special power of
this category of workers is that they provide the
background stories in most organization. Would
you like to know who hasn’t paid his/her rent,
why a teacher resumes late, or who said
something bad about a superior? Then they are
the right persons to ask.
4. Narcissistic Teacher
This is a teacher who has or shows an excessive
admiration of himself or her physical appearance.
They are usually preoccupied with their own
success and they crave attention from others by
exaggerating their abilities or accomplishments. A
narcissistic teacher are usually charming at first
but their heroic stories remain the same over
time, then boringly annoying. Some of them are
even obsessed with their beauty and they might
even get upset if no one notices or compliments
them. Although, you might mistake such people
for an ambitious or self-confident person but you
can identify them easily if you hear them out.
They will surely tell you all that you need to know
without you asking.
5. Dogmatic Teacher
The dogmatic teacher is the kind that follows a
set of rules no matter what. Especially those
which are overly religious or less logical and in
most cases, simply made-up. Such teachers
would never change in their beliefs so don’t even
think of trying to change their minds. You must
have met teachers whose way of carrying out
tasks hasn’t changed since the second world war
and they are the type that impose their beliefs on
others since they aren’t ready to consider yours.
They are the teachers you shouldn’t try to help if
you don’t want trouble for your effort. I am
warning you, just leave their mug or red pen the
way they placed it even if it might fall off.
6. Apoplectic Teacher
This is a teacher that spreads his or her
bitterness and anger by melting out ruthless
verbal and emotional cruelty on others –
teachers or students. They are the angry ones
who will kill the fun in class. They get all worked
up when a student chuckles or makes a light joke.
Their voices are the loudest in the school as they
yell instructions or complain about a student who
drew a butterfly on a jotter he or she doesn’t
need for school work. Call them rigid or
pessimistic if you cant find more fitting words.
They demand respect all the time even from
inanimate objects when they go crazy. Trust me,
this teacher will complain about everything
including a salary increase for another staff.
7. Unhygienic Teacher
This might be the worst category for any teacher
on this list because he or she is a health risk to
students and highly likely a carrier of coronavirus.
An unhygienic teacher cares less about the order
of things in the classroom neither does he or she
takes interest in cleanliness, at least not the
teacher’s space. They are habitually negligent in
appearance, hygiene, and sometimes, work. If
you cannot remember their faces, maybe their
familiar odour might help. Although, I feel that
might make you feel queasy and truly, an
unworthy experience for any teacher. Please look
out for teachers who would disregard health
warnings and safety guidelines during post –
Covid school life.
