 Competent in a wide variety of maintenance repairs for the Boeing 717, 737, 757
aircrafts, the McDonnell Douglas MD-88 and MD-90 aircrafts, and the F/A-18 series
military aircrafts, parts, and components.
 Understands the makeup, operation, installation, and adjustment of a variety of major
interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies such as fuel
and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine(s), landing gear assemblies,
airframe, and control surfaces.
 Experienced in rigging, functional testing, and troubleshooting aircraft systems to
determine when they are operating properly or whether portions of the system must be
repaired, replaced, or an adjustment or alignment needed.
 Reads and understands data and settings from cockpit instruments and gauges.
 Experience with component installations and removal so that parts are not damaged or
misaligned.
 Able to determine by examining for visual evidence of wear, damage, or improper repairs
whether parts and components are to be cleaned and reinstalled.
 Reads and understands specific directions for disassembly, assembly, and adjustment for
replacing control cables and pulleys, reinstalling hydraulic lines, air ducts, and inspection
plates.
 Proficient in the care and use of hand and power tools used in aircraft work and in the use
of standard and specialized tools, test equipment, fixtures, templates, scales, test stands,
and external power sources.
 Skilled in the use of pneumatic wrenches, speed wrenches, ratchet wrenches, end
wrenches, and the tightening and amount of torque to apply to assure a solid connection.
 Follows procedures while performing maintenance, functional checks, installation of
parts, or components.
 Troubleshoots aircraft systems to locate and correct problems such as improper travel,
excessive friction, or play between parts.
 Trained in the use of precision measuring tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers,
go-no-go gauges, multimeters, feeler gauges, and tensionmeters.
 Familiar with both manual and automated maintenance records necessary for aircraft
regulatory reporting and documentation of work performed.
 Operates hoisting equipment and forklift as required.
 Good communicator knowledgeable in the use of computers and Microsoft Office
software.
