Manager of the firm’s Construction Engineering Services group. Assignments include
assisting design engineers on project constructability on final plan designs, reviewing cost
estimates and product specifications and application, preparing record drawings. Provide
support to developers in the way of project management, dry utility coordination, bonding
reductions and final municipal acceptance. Maintain cost database for engineering opinion of
costs and helped expand client base.
From 1994 to 1996 managed the Western Utilities Extension project in the Village of
Carpentersville. This multi-developer funded project expending the village service
boundaries through the installation of sanitary trunk sewer and water transmission lines,
including a booster station rehab, a 1.5 million gallon water tower and three sanitary lift
stations.
From 2006 into 2008 managed the Otter Creek Sanitary Interceptor Sewer in the City of
Elgin. This 18.5 million dollar sanitary interceptor sewer project is a multi-developer
partnership with the City of Elgin. Main focus is to coordinate construction activities
between the Contractor, Developer Group, City of Elgin and other County, State and
Federal Governmental Agencies. This also included plan review, construction
observation, contractor payout reviews and contract change orders through final project
acceptance.
2003-2004 Project Engineer – Lakewood Homes
Hoffman Estates, Illinois
Responsible for completing projects from the preliminary design stage through final
engineering, permitting, bidding, obtaining contractors, bonding, utility coordination,
bonding reduction to final municipal acceptance for one of the largest Home Builders in the
Chicagoland area. Help establish specific design criteria pertaining to final lot grading for
typical housing products to ensure the lease amount of earth movement while maximizing
drainage and usable yard space.
Specific projects include Lakewood Grove in the Village of Round Lake and Lakewood
Springs in the City of Plano.
