4. PHYSICAL BARRIERS
These obstacles that affect the transmission
of the message, such as distance, noise, or
environmental factors.
For example, if you are talking to someone on
the phone and there is a lot of a background
noise, you might not hear them clearly or miss
some important details.
5. PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS
These are mental or emotional factors that
affect the way we perceive or interpret the
message, such as fear, preconceptions, or
biases.
For example, if you are afraid of public
speaking, you might feel nervous or anxious
when you have to give presentation, and this
might affect your performance or confidence.
6. EMOTIONAL BARRIERS
These are feelings or emotions that influence
the way we communicate or respond to the
message, such as anger, sadness, or
frustration.
For example, if you are angry with someone,
you might not listen to them attentively or speak
to them respectfully, and this might lead to
conflict or misunderstanding.
7. LINGUISTIC BARRIERS
These are difficulties that arise from the use
of the different languages or dialects, or from
the lack of familiarity with the other person’s
language.
For example, if you are speaking to someone
who has different native language than yours,
you might not understand their accent,
pronunciation, or vocabulary, or you might use
words or expressions that they don’t know or
find offensive.
8. CULTURAL BARRIERS
These are differences that stem from the
diverse background, beliefs, values, or
customs of the people involved in the
communication.
For example, if you are communicating with
someone who has different culture than yours,
you might not be aware of their norms,
etiquette, or expectations, or you might make
assumptions or generalizations that they find
inappropriate or disrespectful.
