This short presentation considers the challenges of connecting social learning conversations, teaching artefacts, and activities, through facilitated classes and personal agency, with an appraisal of some benefits, risks and opportunities.

Final thoughts
Changing teaching practices require rethink on tools for supporting student learning;
Active learning solutions already exist to connect F2F/online, in-class and out of class activities;
BYO-PLE can co-exist with institutional solutions if carefully managed;
Some institutional priorities are: clear vision; application integration; and enabling BYO-PLE
