Professional Experience
Senior Systems Engineer, Kennametal Inc., 1997–present
Design and manage global Active Directory in 60+ countries and 160+ locations. Continuously improve
standard server configuration builds, guidelines, procedures for users and applications. Create backup and
disaster recovery routines. Regularly use tools such as Group Policy Objects and PowerShell scripts.
Provide Level 3 support on major network, server and infrastructure issues. Manage Web-based
applications and services for both internal and external customers. Evaluate, assess and deploy new
information technologies. Install and support virtual solutions including VMware, Citrix and Microsoft
Azure. Train 60+ hours per year in current information technology products. Conduct and monitor
weekly team status meetings.
 Maintain 99.9% uptime on all mission-critical production systems using high availability solutions
such as database replication and server clustering.
 Manage AD Federation Services for Single Sign-On with Office 365 using the SAML standard for
encrypted Web authentication and authorization.
 Design and deploy all aspects of PKI and manage life cycle of SSL certificates.
 Use tools such as Infoblox for DNS/DHCP, Fluke TruView and Wireshark to support network
devices and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
 Work with Dell SecureWorks to provide secure access to all devices on the Kennametal network
through Cisco ASA firewalls and Citrix NetScaler appliances.

Managed desktops, servers, printers, routers, switches and data services for 20+ locations. Performed
RFP preparation, analysis, solution recommendation and contract negotiation.
