1. Evaluation Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, challenge
forms and conventions of real media Products.
2. The protagonist and antagonist
We challenged the idea of the protagonist and the
antagonist in our product, we chose to use the man in
our product as the protagonist of the story, but
instead of making him seem strong we changed it
and made him seem like a weak character. On the
other hand, we changed the woman of the story by
making her the stronger antagonist, rather than the
idea of women being
weaker than men.
3. Red Herring
We changed the idea of the Red Herring in our
product in order to make the female of the
product the absolute antagonist of the product
rather than just being slightly involved with the
protagonist’s downfall, she is the one who ends
up performing the actual kidnapping. We made
the women just look like she was annoyed at the
protagonist for coming home late, not a way to
make her seem like a
psychopath
4. Comparison to actual film
openings.
Our product sequence is quite different to
most thriller openings to date, most of them,
for example the film source code, starts off
within the middle of some action sequences,
they contain ways in which keeps the
audience captivated. I think that the way we
started the product off in a domestic
household was a way to try to challenge the
conventions of the time, to try to make the
audience actually understand what is going
on instead of what is going to be happening
in the film.
