1. Physiological analysis
Football is a sport that requires a lot from the players. Football is a tough game. Football
is unquestionably one of the most physically and mentally demanding of all the sports. It requires
strength, power, speed, intelligence, toughness, and a generous allotment of courage. Football by
far is one of my all-time favorite sports because it requires so much out of athletes in order to
perform at a very high level. Like playing a game you know that you are going to get hit and
play it anyway. Not everybody is built to play football or even want to play because of all the
things it asks of us. There are sports that everybody is good at and accomplish great things in
those sports because they are passionate about the sport and want to perform well for themselves.
I am passionate about football I love everything about the game I study and watch the game like
no other. I try to find ways that would help make me be a successful coach because the game
changes and become tougher. Sprinting around and smacking your body into
others and getting yours smacked in return for three hours in intense heat or bitter cold requires
a high level of specialized conditioning. Over time, this conditioning model should encompass
the following constituents of training specificity. Energy system specificity Targeting football’s
primary energy source in training procedures movement specificity Emphasizing footwork, body
posture, and skill patterns ascribed to football’s individual positions. Open based skill specificity
responding to specific visual and verbal cues before and during the execution of agility or skill
pattern drills. Tempo specificity administering drills in work: relief sequences that match
the pace and intensity of football drives. Notice that we did not use the term football specific.
Unless you are on the field in full football gear, performing the exact movements
required under game conditions, complete with all of the visual and auditory cues, the given
activities may be football similar, but not football specific. We would like to present an
2. overview of the organization, administration, implementation, and rationale for our football
conditioning process.
The energy system demands of a football game as whole are aerobic for the most part.
This is due to the break in the action each play, and even more so if you are only playing offense
or defense and not both. What is important is the energy system of an individual play, which is
anaerobic in most cases. In a series of plays you will have a high-intensity anaerobic burst
followed by a recovery period. Your fitness level will determine if you can recover from the
anaerobic burst in time to repeat the activity. The key when training for football is to train your
body to be able create a high level of anaerobic power quickly, and be able to recover and
generate that same power again. This means your anaerobic system limitations are the
determining factor of your ability to maintain a series of plays at a high intensity or not. Your
aerobic system will help with the recovery between the series of plays and the endurance you
need for a long season. For football, both the aerobic and anaerobic systems need to be trained,
however the method you use to train your anaerobic system is based on your position and how
long you have to create the anaerobic power. For example, linemen access their anaerobic power
for approximately 3-5 seconds each play and skill players access this power for approximately 5-
8 seconds per play and uses energy systems
Football is one of the physical and mental sports out of them all. Football is a game that
we might get hurt while playing but do it anyway because of the love of the game. Vince
Lombardi one of the greatest coach who ever coached the game said that “Football is like life - it
requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.”
The quote by Lombardi nails it on the head why football is important. Which is important when
we are trying to be successful in life we must all find our place in this world and help be the best
3. we can be and football helps us learn the lessons with our brothers and not alone. Football will
always have a special place in my heart just like each one of us has a special sport in our lives
mine is football.
