beingparalyzed.Some patientsmayneedanelectrictoothbrushwhile otherswouldbe okaywitha
manual toothbrush ora certainaide tohelp.Each patientshouldbe taughta properwayto brushand
flossalongwiththe correctdurationtime to brush.

2. I have had multiple patientsinthe LewisandClark dental hygieneclinicthatthat receivednon-surgical
dental hygiene treatment.AlongwithSRP,if needed,theyreceive subgingivalirrigation,and/orlocal
anesthetic.All of ourpatientsalsoreceive supportivedental care,suchasextraand intraoral exams.If
treatmentplannedforit,ourpatientsreceiveare-evaluationsof care ina time frame of 4-6 weeks.We
make sure that the tissuesare healingproperlyaftertreatmentandtoremove anydepositsthatwere
leftbehind.
Professionalandethical managementof patients shouldbe practicedwitheverypatient.Nomatterthe
nationalityof the patient,ortheirbeliefsorpractices.Ashygienists,we needtorespecteach patient’s
