Social-Cultural Anthropology • Evans-Prichard (1902-78) Define social anthropology • Social anthropology is sub-field of cultural anthropology. • Social anthropology term is popular in Great Britain. • In United State Of America term used Cultural Anthropology. • In 19th century neither term social anthropology , nor the term cultural anthropology was popular instead the term ethnology was use.

Ethnology attempts to point out how cultures develop and change. • Social-Cultural Anthropology seek to understand the relations and patterns of life among the differents types of people as revealed through their established institutions and groups such as kinship,marriage,family,religious economic,political behaviour,art forms music. Etc. the facts os such study are collect though face-to-face investigation.Most of these studies are conducted in small-scale and relatively osolated societies, called primitive societies.
