Risk assessment is essential when it comes to fire safety.
To fulfill legally binding requirements, safety of personnel,
as well as the assessment of business risk, play a key role
in the judgement and decision of the property insurer.
Aware of the importance of research and development, Kingspan has created a
high performance insulation core that not only fulfills the requirements of national
and international standards, but also meets the stringent demands of insurers,
such as FM Global.

German Sustainable Building Council
The task of the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft fĂĽr Nachhaltiges Bauen)
is to point out and advance paths and solutions for sustainable building.
The focus of the DGNB is on awarding the certification for sustainable building. This includes:
• Planning of buildings
• Construction and operation

Gold. Silver. Bronze. The assessment.
Less Capital, Less Energy, Less Carbon.
• Defined target values: 10 assessment points are awarded for reaching
the target specifications.
• The total assessment score points is based on six quality section points.
• Total score for the overall project is calculated from five quality sections based
on their weighting.
• Site quality is considered separately.
• If performance index is at least 50%, the building will receive a bronze
DGNB Certificate.
• If the total score is at least 65%, a silver certificate is granted.
• For a gold certificate, a project requires a total score of at least 80%.

Multiple Benefits of Investing in Energy Efficient Renovation of Buildings
Revealing the economic benefits for society and public finances in the EU
Gross annual investments of €41 to €78 billion per year in the EU will bring
on-going annual returns of €104 to €175billion.
Renovate Europe
Making the right policy choices is a no-cost way to boost public finances:
• Modernise rent regulation to allow landlords and tenants to share the gains from
energy efficient renovation of buildings
• Reform budget management of publicly owned buildings to allow for a longer
term focus in investments and renovation of public buildings
• Remove or reduce favourable tax treatment of heating and electricity use in
buildings to render energy efficient renovation of buildings more attractive
• Introduce well-designed risk-sharing programmes to help governments and
private building owners to realise cost savings with limited budget costs
