OUR APPROACH
“I was shocked at the beginning of the CHWA/
EHBC challenge at how little I moved throughout
the day. Four weeks later, I know my baseline and
I am able to get immediate feedback- like when
to get up and walk. I would have never known this
information without the challenge so I am very
thankful. I am hoping to implement a wearable
device into ITW in the near future.”

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED IN 2014
The CHWA/EHBC provides the ultimate platform for diverse corporations
that have implemented wellness programs to demonstrate current
wearable technology and – at the same time - have fun doing so! Since
employers have hundreds of health wellness related wearable devices
to choose from, the CHWA/EHBC provides a platform for employers to
evaluate the various wearable options.
With rising healthcare costs and the challenging task of engaging
employees in healthy behaviors, curiosity from employers of this hot
new trend is on the rise. Employers have begun incorporating health
and wellness technology solutions wearables into their workplace to
help increase good health while lowering coverage premiums. They offer
employers an opportunity to engage, motivate, track and analyze the
health activity of their employees, but one top concern is the feasibility for
long-term employee engagement since no reports or studies have been
done as it relates to employee utilization of the devices.
After months of candid conversations with employers, the CHWA/EHBC
has made it a top priority in 2015/2016 to uncover the ins and outs of
incorporating wearable devices into the workplace. The CHWA/EHBC, with
the cooperation of leading employers and various industry partner’s held
the first “Employer Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank” and “Employer
Fitness Wearable Device Challenge” in 2014.
2014 Employer Fitness Wearable Device
Think Tank
The CHWA’s recent Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank was at the annual
Corporate Wellness Conference/EHBC. The Think Tank brought together
a group of employers to share their perception, ideas, experiences, and
goals. This high energy and collaborative brainstorming session was
highly valuable, leading to the CHWA’s/EHBC’s decision to continue
the momentum with an employer challenge, and thus a comprehensive
research and industry report.

2014 Employer Fitness Wearable Device Challenge
The CHWA/EHBC, in partnership with leading wearable companies and an
integrated online platform, developed an opportunity for leading employers to
try several devices on the market. Over the course of four weeks, employers
participated in different challenges and competed both individually and on a
team level. “We are thrilled to be participating in the CHWA/
EHBC Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank
Challenge. We look forward to building new
relationships, sharing innovative ideas, and
watching how lives are changing due to fitness
wearables. This think tank is going to bring in
key industry players to reveal how successful
implementation of these devices is changing lives
in the corporations.”
“With the increasing use of technology in the
workplace combined with the boom of fitness
wearable devices in corporations, the CHWA/
EHBC Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank
Challenge will help us take our wellness
programs to the next level by testing out various
technologies

  • 5. ©Copyright 2015 Corporate Health Wellness Association. All Rights Reserved. info@WellnessAssociation.com WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED IN 2014 The CHWA/EHBC provides the ultimate platform for diverse corporations that have implemented wellness programs to demonstrate current wearable technology and – at the same time - have fun doing so! Since employers have hundreds of health wellness related wearable devices to choose from, the CHWA/EHBC provides a platform for employers to evaluate the various wearable options. With rising healthcare costs and the challenging task of engaging employees in healthy behaviors, curiosity from employers of this hot new trend is on the rise. Employers have begun incorporating health and wellness technology solutions wearables into their workplace to help increase good health while lowering coverage premiums. They offer employers an opportunity to engage, motivate, track and analyze the health activity of their employees, but one top concern is the feasibility for long-term employee engagement since no reports or studies have been done as it relates to employee utilization of the devices. After months of candid conversations with employers, the CHWA/EHBC has made it a top priority in 2015/2016 to uncover the ins and outs of incorporating wearable devices into the workplace. The CHWA/EHBC, with the cooperation of leading employers and various industry partner’s held the first “Employer Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank” and “Employer Fitness Wearable Device Challenge” in 2014. 2014 Employer Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank The CHWA’s recent Fitness Wearable Device Think Tank was at the annual Corporate Wellness Conference/EHBC. The Think Tank brought together a group of employers to share their perception, ideas, experiences, and goals. This high energy and collaborative brainstorming session was highly valuable, leading to the CHWA’s/EHBC’s decision to continue the momentum with an employer challenge, and thus a comprehensive research and industry report. |P5
