3. Four Elements of Right
1. subject - refers to a person who is vested with the moral power
to do, to hold, or to exact something as his own
2. object - refers to the right to which a person has a right
3. title - refers to the bases of a right demanded by the person
who has the capacity to exercise such right
4. term - refers to the person in whom is found the duty
corresponding to the right
4. Source of Right
Rights originate from the law, particularly from the natural law and the
human positive laws ---- civil and ecclesiastical.
Kinds of Right
1. Natural rights / Human Rights are those which man acquired by
birth.
2. Acquired rights are those which man gains through the fulfillment of
some conditions.
5. 3. Public rights are those rights which are possessed by a perfect society.
4. Private rights are those rights which are possessed by an individual or by an
imperfect society.
5. Positive rights refer to those rights which do not confer upon a person the
power to do certain things.
6. Negative rights refer to those rights which do not confer upon a person
the right to perform certain things.
7. Alienable rights are rights which can be renounced and transferred.
8. Inalienable rights refer to those which cannot be transferred or renounce
since they are indispensable for a person's basic obligations.
9. Perfect rights are those which are enforced by law.
I0. Imperfect rights are those which are not enforced by law.

Four reasons to justify the use of violence in defense of rights:
1. The intention of the defendant should be geared only towards the
protection or vindication of the right.
2. There is no other way of defending the right.
3. Violence should be use only in times of aggression.
4. The right to be defended is primordially important like purity, life, dignity,
freedom, etc.
