A. Daily Routine
Teacher Student
Prayer
Class, please stand up and let us pray. ( the students will pray)
2. Greetings
Good morning class!
Classroom Conditioning
Kindly arrange your chairs and pick up
those pieces of paper around you.
Okay, please be seated.
Checking of Attendance
Danica, is there any absent for today?
Very good!
Checking of Assignment
Did I give you any assignment
yesterday?
Exchange your paper to your seatmate.
Good morning Sir!
Thank you Sir.
None
Yes
B. Recall
Teacher Student
Now, 2 minutes for preparing your short
roleplay.
Time is elapse!
Group 1, present your jingle.
Group 2
And last group 3.
Good Job!
Give your self “ Tut-tut Clap”
Yes Sir.
(students will presents their jingles)
Thank you sir.
C. Motivation
Teacher Student
Let’s a game an titled “ Pinili Pero Di
Nagtagal”
Please stand all of you.
Listen to the rules:
1. Get ¼ paper and ballpen
2. I give a categories
3. Choose one category and write it
on the1/4.
4. I will say a categories whether it is
will stay or will seat down.
5. Three students will stay, will get 3
points in the recitation.
Let’s begin!
3. D. Procedure
Teacher Student
Let’s have a POP QUIZ
Anyone? What is the highest mountain in
the Philippines?
How about the highest mountain in the
world?
Do you have any idea how tall Mount
Everest is?
How do you think most of the tall
mountains of the world are formed?
Let’s find out the answer!
Mt. Apo
about 3144 meters
Mt. Everest
8848 meters
E. Pre- Activity
Teacher Student
To find out the answer, let’s now perform
the aActivity 3 an titled “Head-On
Collision” Part C, Two Continental Plates
Converging.
Everyone, please read the objectives.
Instruction:
1. Get one manila paper and pentel
pen for your activity.
2. Cooperate and collaborate with
your groupmates.
3. Your time is 10 minutes to study,
to analyze and to answer the guide
questions.
4. Choose two to three presenter of
your activity.
5. Your score for this activity is
based on rubrix.
Let’s start !
The objectives of this activity are:
Explaine the processes that occur
along convergent boundaries, and
Determine the consequences of
colliding plates.
F. Post Activity
Teacher Student
Time is up!
Please, paste your activity works on the
4. board.
Give yourself “Petmalu Clap”
Let’s start group 1.
I want to hear the next group, group 2.
Present your work group 3.
Lastly, group 4.
(The teacher will add information while
the presenters presents their works.)
When two continental plates converge, a
collision zone is formed. Unlike the other
two types of convergent boundaries,
subduction ceases for this particular type
of convergence. No trench, no volcano,
and definitely no island arc are created
during this process. Instead, what is
created is a large group of tall mountains
called mountain range.
About 40 to 50 million years ago, two
large land masses, India and Eurasia,
collided to begin the formation of the
most visible product of plate tectonics -
the Himalayas. Since subduction is
impossible between two colliding
continental plates, pressure is released by
pushing the crusts upward and forming
the Himalayan peaks.
Key concept:
1. When two continental plates meet
head-on, neither is subducted. Instead, the
crust tends to buckle and be pushed
upward causing formation of mountain
ranges and other highlands.
(The presenter presents their works and
asnwer the quide questions )
G. Generalization
Teacher Student
What are geologic events are formed in
two continental plates converging?
Based on activity, If the strips of clay
represent the Earth’s lithosphere, what do
you think is formed in the lithosphere?
Causing formation of mountain ranges
and other highlands.
Mountains are formed in the lithosphere.
5. H. Valuing/ Application
Teacher Student
Importance, why need to discuss? Because for the preparedness and
awareness during earthquakes, tsunamis,
and volcanic eruption.
IV. Evaluation
In your bond paper draw four (4) geologic events showing how they formed
by the process of the convergent boundaries.
V. Assignment
Explain the processes that occur along divergent boundaries and determine the
results of plates that are moving apart.
