• A chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid via
a vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycle.
• This liquid can then be circulated through a heat
exchanger to cool equipment, or another process stream.

condensers and utilize R-22 refrigerant.

Refrigerant Charge: Cooling by any equipment is dependent upon the amount of
refrigerant moving through compressor.Thus it is important to keep required
refrigerant level to achieve best conditioning. If refrigerant charge is low, then it will
result in more work for the compressor and have lesser cooling effect.
Compressor Oil: Every year you need to send the lubrication oil for performing
spectrometric chemical analysis. In case it is found that moisture is high then it will
mean a problem with purge unit.You also need to test the oil filters for things like
pressure drops and will have to replace them in case oil charge is also replaced.

Non-Condensable:Things like moisture and air get into any low-pressure equipment due to the fact
that their evaporators work within a vacuum.These non condensable can result in lower efficiency of
the equipment by about 4% in case of 60% load and by as much as 7% in case of 100% load.The
solution is using purge units which are able to reduce the effect of these non condensable.
Starter Operation:According to chiller manufacturers you need to regularly test sensor and safety
calibrations of microprocessor controls to ensure efficient operation of motors as well as starters.
