adopting teacher/leader performance evaluations along side draconian budget cuts and two school closures.
• Celebrated an AZLEARNS “B” rating from a Persistently Low-Achieving (“D” rating) status in one year.
• Students from15 nations with 22 languages spoken embraced best practices resulting in Academic Parent Teacher Teams,
Community Outreach Room, Parent Resource Room, and 18 community and private sector collaboratives.
SEQUOIA SCHOOLS 2008 – 2011 Principal – Children First Academy – Phoenix
Lead the first ever County-to-Charter school transition. In less than 90 days, we staffed & outfitted physical facilities for over 400 children of
homeless families. We routed over 1200 weekly miles in transportation routes extending services to more than 200 families.
• Raised $180 thousand in sustainable funding for Expeditionary Learning Schools reform model programming.
• 200% increase in student enrollment engineered through strategic internal and external branding campaigns that.
• Raised over $1.3 million in donations, with a 3-year average of over $40 thousand extra-curricular fund campaign.
JMS RESOURCES 2005 – 2008 Owner/Principal
Hired away from education by successful entrepreneur to pioneer best-practice operational strategies to improve organizational

athletic, human capital, and instructional processes of a K-8 school with over 1,200 students.
• Specifically responsible for developing, maintaining and drilling school/facilities emergency response plan. Supervision of
classroom management, progressive discipline and school safety.
• Coordinated the development of school within a school articulation, normative group development, schedule facilitation, and
instructional strategies training; resulting in streamlined academic accountability reporting measures.
2. PEORIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT 2002 – 2004 Assistant Principal – Sky View Elementary
Successfully transitioned from small County schools to an “A” rated district. Managed the literacy intervention, hearing impaired, emotionally
disabled, and athletic programs for a K-8 elementary of over 800 students.
• Supervised K-3 literacy development modules resulting in cutting edge reading intervention programs that improved student
comprehension scores over 30%.
• Executed school culture renewal by articulating traditions, establishing best practices, creating teacher/parent-led committees
that resulted in increased community involvement & higher teacher retention.
MARICOPA COUNTY SCHOOLS 2001 – 2002 Principal – Pappas Elementary
Hired directly from administrative internship into principalship where I served, to that date, as the longest standing principal of TJ Pappas
Phoenix Campus, who’s brief tenure saw 4 school superintendents lead Maricopa County Regional Schools.
• Initiated peer mediation program reducing incidents of school violence by 80%.
• Established cutting edge play therapy partnership with Nana’s Children Foundation, serving over 400 children.
ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD 1998 – 2003 Sergeant - Team Leader/Forward Observer
At 29 years of age, voluntarily enlisted as a citizen-soldier during Serbian/Bosnian conflict. Trained as BLUFOR and OPFOR at Fort Irwin &
Fort Polk. Assigned to the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment, 1/180th Field Artillery, FIST Detachment as a Fire Support Specialist.
Experienced Unit Deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom.
• Led a team of military personnel in artillery, mortar, close-air, mechanized and direct-fire support.
• Provided intelligence, communications, coordinated direct-fire amongst individual forces, and assisted military services with
any special operational support.
