A THREE DIMENTIONAL VISUAL MEDIUM
AUDIO
INFORMATION
AND MEDIA
• May refer to analog tape casse0es and digital
CDs as well as to computer files containing
audio in any number of digital formats
• Audio Media was founded in 1994 as a digital
studio by T.Selvakumar, a well known musician
and personality in the Indian Film industry.
Further on in 2002, as an educaIon insItute
providing Apple CerIfied course.
TWO TYPES
OF AUDIO
MEDIA
01
ANALOG
• TradiIonal audio devices are analog, because
they handle sound waves in an analogous form.
For example, radios maintain the audio signal as
rippling waves from antenna to speaker.
• Tape casse0e players record sound waves as
magneIc waves.
02
DIGITAL
• In the computer, audio is processed by
converIng the analog signal into a digital code
using PCM (Phase change memory)

TWO KINDS
OF AUDIO
MEDIA
02
• Radio broadcast which can be live or
taped
• Recordings
MOTION
INFORMATION AND
MEDIA
-A form of media that has the appearance of moving text and
graphics on a display.its purpose is to
communicate information in multiple ways
(roblyer 2006).
-An integrated sight and sound kinetic media
(Shelton,2014)
CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTIONMEDIA
It communicates message to large, heterogeneous, and anonymous
audiences;
It communicates the same message to mass audiences simultaneously,
sometimes in public, other times in private;
It embodies messages that are usually impersonal and transitory;
It is multi-sensory such that the audience’s sight and hearing are stimulated
in concert. Such a combination of sensory stimuli forms a complex synergism
that can significantly enhance communication. This powerful double-barreled
combination of dual-sense stimulation contributes in large measure to the
compelling influence of motion media;
EXAMPLES OF
MOTION MEDIA
FILM-also called a movie picture,is a series of still or
moving images.
ANIMATION-a scene from the animated film.
SHORT FILM-a trailer of a short film, ninety seconds
about a surveillance expert taking on an assignment that
might be his downfall.
DOCUMENTARY FILM-telling where commercialized and
fast food comes from
MANIPULATIVE
INFORMATION AND
MEDIA
Refers to materials, programs,
application and the like that teachers and
students use to formulate new
information to aid learning through the
use, use, evaluation and production of
interactive and hand-on media
MANIPULATIVE
INFORMATION & MEDIA
CHARACTERISTIC, FORMAT
AND TYPES
Activism
These can be done through public rallies,
strikes, street marches, and rants on social
media
Anonymous
The perfect example for activism are those people refer to as
anonymous who spread information about government and
other threats to the world and use hacking for good.
Advertising
It is action of attracting public attention to something
especially through paid announcements for products and
services.
Hoaxing
A hoax is something intended to deceive or defraud. For a thing to
become a hoax, the lie a must have something to offer-it must be
outrageous, dramatic, but also believable. It includes misleading public
stunts, scientific fraud, false bomb threats, and business scam.
- means that computer information can be represented through audio,
video, and animation in addition to traditional media.
- Dave Marshall defines multimedia as the field concerned with the computer
controlled integration of text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images
(video), animation, audio, and any other media where every type of
information can be represented, stored, transmitted and processed digitally.
- while traditional or analog media still co-exist with computer-controlled
media, savage and vogel (2009) assert that the contemporary definition of
multimedia is mostly in the digital form. Moreover, both trending and
emerging forms of multimedia are describing as ubiquitous, interactive,
massive, and immersive.
MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION
AND MEDIA
CHARACTERISTICS
OF MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia must be computer
controlled
Multimedia are integrated.
The information they handle
must be
represented digitally.
The interface of the final
presentation of media is usually
interactive.
IMPORTANCE OF
MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia is significant in
our lives today because if we
connect and communicate
with more than just one
medium, we can use more
than one of our senses.
Using a variety of artistic or
communicative media like
this helps to make an idea or
presentation fresh and
interesting, and also allows
for greater insight.
