UsingGoogle software, I collected data on the internet traffic of Future’s two websites across 12 European countries.I
then compared this data to traffic rival websites received; the information was prepared in Excel and then presented to
superiors.New potential markets for growth and expansion were identified,highlighted,and recommended. This task
required me to be highly organised as well as havingexcellenttime management throughout the endeavour.
I created a specific new databasetargeting charities for forthcoming advertisingendeavours with Future’s magazine
portfolio.Charities were researched and then spoken to on the phone to gauge interest, take details a nd createa
platformfor the company to liaisewith them in the future. Spending a lotof time on the phone required me to be
determined and organised.An excellent telephone manner was needed to engage with clients in a stylethat they were
comfortable with, and give myself a better chanceat securingties with them.
I contributed editorially to the ‘Wish List’section in CyclingPro Magazineas well as assistingon a photo-shoot for
Mountain Bike UK magazine in the Forest of Dean.

The servingof ‘match-teas’ (cake and tea/coffee) for up to 150 parents, often by myself. Maintainingan excellent,quick
service,ensuringparent satisfaction whilstbeinginteractive,friendly and polite.
I learned to work in a stressful,fast-paced environment. Havingto be flexiblewith staff, parents and pupils mademe
more aware of my own performance making me more proactive,efficient and organised.

Based in the editorial teamworking on articles on Bath RFC and on the exhibition “Eastern Voices in the West Country”
which was on show at the Museum of East Asian Art. For the exhibition,I had to research a previously unknown topic and
be ableto quickly analysethe key information whilstworkingto a deadline.I corresponded with a wide range of people to
get the best possibleinformation for my articleas well as beinggiven a personal tour of the exhibition. For the piece on
Bath RFC, I interviewed former star Duncan Bell over the telephone which formed a key part of the short piece that I
wrote.
Over the week, I improved my written skillsand my time management on top of gaininga fantastic experienceof working
within the newspaper industry.

2007-9 Duke of Edinburgh Awards Horsham, West Sussex, UK
I undertook and completed my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards whilstI was atsecondary school.Both
awards required community service, improvement on a personal skill and a final overnightexpedition. For the bronze, I
visited a retirement community and worked on my goalkeeping both weekly for 3 months. A 2-day expedition to the Isle
of Wight culminated the Bronze award. For silver,I supervised 2nd formprep (Year 7 homework) and worked on my
batting in cricket,again both weekly for 6 months, a 3-day expedition in Snowdonia finished the award. Key skills
improved over the Bronze and Silver awards and especially during,and planning,the final expeditions include:teamwork
especially communication and listeningskills,becomingmore constructive,flexibleand reliableas well as improving
fitness,determination and work ethic.
