Is your child entering or in grade 10
(secondary 4)? This year, the Trevor
Williams Basketball Academy is offering a
program to help your child succeed in
grade 10 history.
Every student in Quebec must write and
pass the Ministry history exam in order to
continue on to CEGEP. The goal of the
TWBA history program is to prepare your
child for the course and exam through
discussion and interactive learning. History
can be boring, and memorizing fact after
fact can be exhausting and frustrating.
Instead, we encourage learning about
history with a much more accessible
approach.
2
We will focus on the stories that happened
outside the history books, about
communities and people in Montreal,
Quebec and Canada. Taking this
perspective makes history much more
interesting, relatable and relevant; that’s
when learning happens.
The Crash Courses will take place twice a
week in the afternoon, in between
basketball games. If you are interested in
signing your child up for this program, free
of charge, you may: send an email to
(twkf@bellnet.ca), call us at 514-931-8731
ext. 4513, or stop by the office at Dawson to
let us know.

I’m excited to offer this
year’s campers a program
full of stimulating activities
and outings to get them
excited about history.
I’m an aspiring teacher
who is currently completing
a Bachelor of Arts in
Honours Public History at
Concordia University.
I think the best history is
taught without a textbook,
and look forward to having
conversations, sharing
stories and learning with
the campers at Trevor
Williams Basketball
Academy.
NCAA & NBA outings to the
