UNESCO’s Four Pillars of Learning
UNESCO’s four pillars of learning are
proposed in the Delors Report entitled
“Learning: The Treasure Within” which was
published in 1996.
The report is the result of a
comprehensive and inclusive international
effort to rethink education for the 21st
century.

UNESCO Director-General, Jacques Delor,
established the International Commission
on Education for the 21st Century in 1993
to lead this initiative.
The committee, chaired by Jacques Delor

regions of the world.
