2. Logo and Production Name
Our production company name- Deciding on the name was one of, if not, the
hardest decisions within our main project, we each had ideas and half the
time all the others had issues with them.
We believed that basing it on our genre would be an easier choice, as if we
were going to be a real company we would stick to the same genre and our
name should reflect that or at least link in with it.
An example of a suggested name was:
• Just Jack- Offered by Jack but was rejected immediately. Though it would
have been revisited if we got stuck for ideas.
End ProductWe chose this name because we wanted something that would reflect all of
us. We decided on this as we think of ourselves as being crazy and
sometimes uncontrollable, this resulted in us thinking about straight
jackets, and our name ended up being Straight Jacket Productions.
3. Our Main Idea
For our main project we decided to do a Horror/ Thriller movie.
We agreed on a masked stalker, (who we have called ‘The Mask’ for our
pitch) That harasses a group of teenagers after they saw the teenagers bury
a body.
The characters will be receiving many texts and emails anonymously off
‘The Mask’ who blackmails and threatens to tell the world what they did.
Our Opening
In our opening two minuets we chose to show two different time periods.
The first was when the characters buried the body and the second was
4 weeks after, when ‘The Mask’ started texting them.
4. Our Process
Genre
During our first planning session we pitched many ideas for what genre we
wanted to do, we had Romance, Horror, Thriller and Paranormal.
Other than the Romance we all wanted a similar theme in the movie so we
decided on a Horror/Thriller combo.
Film Plot
After choosing our genre we had to pitch ideas we had to one another, it
took time deciding on one idea as we have different tastes in horror,
different members of the group like Saw films. However others don’t watch
them but like slasher films like Scream. After this we decided to take
elements out of each sub-genre and adapt our own concoction of a film.
We ended up with a Stalker that blackmails us. A group of heroes, that aren’t
at all heroic. And Lots of murder!
5. Setting
Our setting was easy to agree on once we knew the plot, we all wanted to
stay close to the school and wanted to film the main scenes in the woods
next to the school.
The School- We chose this as one of our setting because it reflects our
characters age, it shows we are still in school. We also chose it because there
are many rooms within the school, most being different shapes and sizes
which would be perfect to film in.
The Forest- Our main setting is the forest next to the school, we chose this
as we decided that it would be a good place to bury someone…
Theoretically. As It secluded and can be creepy if it is dark.
We also knew that there are parts of the forest which are quite open but look
secluded from after and we knew that it would be a great place to film.

We chose five main characters including ‘the mask’ for our film. We have given
each of them a different background. Ranging from homeless to rich. We felt that
making the characters so different will show how different people would react to
this situation.
Our characters also have different personalities to each other because we wanted
to show how we believe people would react to murder and harassment.
7. Film Tagline/Slogan
The tagline was done by Sean and Leanne.
They both offered ideas to what an affective tagline would be.
We then gave our thoughts on different ideas and agreed that it should to the
point, ironic and it must foreshadow our films plot.
Example Ideas
• Where will you be when the secret is out?- Links to how we were in different
places when we received the first message. Includes the title. –Regected
• Secrets Don’t stay buried for long.- Effective, links with the film and plot.
Build suspense. Two out of four votes.
We decided on….
You can bury a body, but you can’t bury your secrets .- Effective links with the
plot in two ways. Foreshadows how we buried someone and that the our secret
was unearthed. Ended up being a unanimous vote!

9. Props
In our film we plan to use a few main
props.
The first prop is a shovel, this will be at the
beginning to give a hint about the film
plot.
Next we have our phones, these will be
used to show communication between
the characters and they will send/receive
the message that reveals a lot.
Lastly we have the mask, this will be our
main prop as we have a few reasons for
selecting it. It will hide the identity of the
character that knows the secret. Also
masks are a traditional part of a
thriller/horror movie such as ours.
