2. Current State
Client is currently using a set of PowerPoint slides to comply with state government. After a thorough content
review, content re-structure was recommended to make the course flow and support learning objectives

5. PowerPoint slides had ugly images that were turned into vector graphics. Slide
animations were converted into learning interactions.
6. Personas were added throughout the course to connect with the learner.These photos
were inserted where interactions took place.
7. Client emphasized the need for employees to be able to recognize pictograms.Two
simple and yet effective learning events were designed.
• First, the label is revealed when the learner hoovers-over a pictogram, the label is revealed.
• Second, specific information is reviewed when the learner clicks on the pictogram (as seen in the next screen).
8. I got rid off all the bullet point lists and created ways to point out key information.
White space was increase to add a modern look but most importantly to improve
learning retention.
9. I believe in increasing white space, don’t use bullet point lists, and select abstract
photos to create strong cognitive associations.
10. This course was designed to have voice-over (audio). Once the audio is inserted on the
slides, on-screen content is synced with the narration.This involves an additional
(hearing) sense which helps tremendously with keeping the learners attention.
