• Negative S + Will + not + V + C
She will not (won’t) play soccer
• Interrogative Will + S + V + C + ?

4. Future Going to
♯ Future plans, particularly if they’re likely to
happen soon.
♯ Predictions based on facts or events in the
present .

5. • Affirmative S + to be + Going to + V + C
They are going to have a barbecue
• Negative S + to be + not + Going to + V + C
They are not going to have a barbecue
• Interrogative To be + S + Going to + V + C + ?
Are they going to have a barbecue?

6. Future Present Simple
♯ Actions or events based on a schedule or
known date.
♯ Future intentions.

7. • Affirmative S + V + C
The plane leaves at 6 p.m. today
• Negative S + do/does + not + V + C
The plane does not leave at 6 p.m. today
• Interrogative Does/Do + S + V + C + ?
Does the plane leave at 6 p.m. today?

8. Future Present Continuous
♯ The present continuous is used to talk
about arrangements for events that are going
to happen later.
♯ Imminent future events.

9. • Affirmative S + to be + V-ing + C
We are having a party on Friday
• Negative S + to be + not + V-ing + C
We are not having a party on Friday
• Interrogative: To be + S + V-ing + C + ?
Are we having a party on Friday?

10. Future Continuous
♯ Expresses action at a particular moment in the
future.

11. • Affirmative S + Will + be + V-ing + C
Sergio will be doing his homework with Luis
• Negative S+ Will + not + be + V-ing + C
Sergio will not (won’t) be doing his
homework with Luis
• Interrogative Will + S +be + V-ing + C + ?
Will sergio be doing his homework with Luis?

12. Future Perfect Continuous
♯ Used to indicate the duration of an action or
an event.

13. • Affirmative S + Will + have been + V-ing + C
By the end of June, Mario will have been living
here for 5 years
• Negative S + will + not + have been + V-ing + C
By the end of June, Mario will not (won’t) have
been living here for 5 years.
• Interrogative Will + S + have been + V-ing + C + ?
Will Mario have been living here for 5 years by
the end of June?

14. Future in the past
♯ Something that you planned but you did not
do.
♯ Future in the Past follows the same basic rules
as the Simple Future. "Would" is used to
volunteer or promise, and "was going to" is
used to plan.

Sarah was going to buy a car, but she didn’t
have money
• Negative S + Was/Were + not + going to + V + C
Sarah was not going to buy a car
• Interrogative Was/Were + S + going to + V + C + ?
