• - is “ a state of well-being in
which every individual realizes
his or her own potential, can
cope with normal stress of life,
can work productively and
fruitfully and able to make
contribution to his or her
community”

3. BEING HEALTHY. . .
• -includes sound mental health not
just a healthy physical body.
• -it is the condition where both the
body and the mind are functioning
properly
• -Good Mental Health helps a
person to give his /her best
performance and makes one feel
good about himself or herself.

•-separation of parents or
death of a loved one
•-causes trauma and grief
•-have negative effects in
the future

•-being abused verbally,
physically, or sexually.
•-physical and emotional
pain poses great risk in
mental health

•-Stress is simply
the body’s
response to events
that make one feel
threatened or
upset.

12. HOWDOESOURBODYRESPOND?
• FIGHT OR FLIGHT/FREEZE REACTION-
•-is our body’s stress response
•-is caused by a hormone
called ADRENALINE.
Example:
When the body senses danger,
whether it is real or not, the
body’s defense become rapid and
automatic.

13. Whathappenswhen wearestressed?
•When stressed,
• A. the mind and body go into
“fight or flight” mode
• B. our thinking and reflexes
become sharper
• C. the heart pumps more blood
and faster
• D. muscles become stronger to
fight or escape from harm

14. WHATISANXIETY?
•ANXIETY- is the
feeling of worry and
fear that continue
after the stressor is
gone.

• A. EUSTRESS
• -Is called good stress
• -positive and gives energy
• -improves over-all performance
• -can be handles
• -promoted mental and physical health and growth
• B. DISTRESS
• -Is called bad stress
• -unpleasant and drains energy
• -decreases over-all performance
• -cannot be handled
• -leads to mental fatigue and physical illness

and internal condition
that create problem
