Assessment Task Instructions for Students
Assessment Task:
In the simulated facility,you are tasked to safely undertake floor,wall and ceilinginsulation installation work usingbulk
insulation and pliableproducts.
Specificationsfor the job:
 Install a pliable membrane (sarking/wall wrap) on a wall frame minimum 2400mm high by 3 lineal metres
 Install bulkinsulation to a floor Space with a minimum area of 9 squaremetres
 Install bulkinsulation wall frames to a minimum of 2400mm high by 3 lineal metres
 Install bulkinsulation to ceiling space with a minimum area of 9 squaremetres
Duringthe installation you will berequired to take 4 photos of the final installation for wall,ceiling and upload into eLearn.
 You will berequired to complete written task five (5) at the completion of all 4 installations.
Throughout the installations you arerequired to take the followingphotographs as supplementary evidence. You will
upload these onto eLearn. Pleasetake images of:
1. Signage and barricades in correctposition
2. Locked out and tagged electrical board
3. Wall wrap atcorners,openings, bottom of wall,overlap and fixingspacing
4. Image of final job (whole wall)
Time allowed: Each installation mustbe completed within the standard work time of 30 minutes
Assessment range and conditions:
 This assessmenttask will becompleted in groups of no more than 4 students. You will be assessed individually.
 Prior to attempting this assessment,you must submitall written tasks (1-4).
 Relevant standards provided by CIT (AS 3999, AS/NZS 3859.1/AS/NZS 3000/AS 4200.2/AS 4859.1)
 The practical task mustbe completed within the standard work timeframe of 30 minutes.
 Course notes with technical details
Materials provided: Assessment will be conducted in the simulated facility located on Bruce campus will access to all
equipment and materials.
Materials you may need: You will provideyour own PPE; work boots, ankle-to-wristcovered clothing,hard hat, high vis
vest or shirt,protective eye wear, dust musk, anti-cut gloves.
You will also need printed copies of Tasks 1-4 from Assessment 2 on hand for the installations.
Information for students: You may have two (2) attempts for this assessment.
 If your first attempt is notsuccessful,your teacher will discuss your results with you and will arrangea second
attempt.
 If your second attempt is not successful,you will berequired to re-enrol in this unit.
Only one re-assessmentattempt will begranted for each assessmentitem.
