3. Close up- first shot of his face showing his identity.
Long shot- Showing his overall and includes the setting and props around him.
4. Extreme close up- More shots of tattoos.
Prop- Starts the narrative of the music video.
5. Light shining at camera with his aggressive expression in front of this.
Red paint from art work he’s creating. We can tell this from the spray can we seen
previously. Bright light and red all over hand represents death.
6. Fast action showing his feelings towards the meaning of the song which he’s singing.
Extreme close up of expressions to show aggression.
7. Showing the whole setting and props which are included in the narrative. Long shot of
Lil Wayne in a tensed/posing position.
A hand full of red paint which again represents too a death.
8. Loads of close up shots of Lil Wayne's expressions which express his feelings.
9. Actions relate too the song lyrics ‘I’m looking through you’. This adds the
performance shots to the narrative as well.
10. A variety of cuts too his tattoos.
Expressing emotions again.
11. A spray can dripping with red paint down the side. This reminds the audience that the
red ink is coming from the art work which he is creating.
12. Another object which shows it is paint. As the last clip which did was shown quickly.
It’s like another proof of paint work.
13. Close up- Red splashes representing the blood again.
Actions match the lyrics in the song.
14. Close up- expressing his feelings through his actions with his hands on
her head. The cut away create a strong narrative to this music video.
18. A very bright light coming through the background as he is about to get replaced
by Bruno Mars. This creates a fading effect.
19. Strong actions as he’s coming off the camera as Bruno replaces him. Making him
self remembered as he is the main artist in this song.
20. Another effect of Lil Wayne fading off the camera.
Bruno mars being introduced in the music video. We recognise him from his fashion
and actions which he performs.
21. Not showing his identity but including an extreme blood effect of paint.
22. Showing Bruno is in the same setting by bringing in the studio lighting. This tells us he is in
with the same art work which they’re creating.
Bringing Lil Wayne into it to remind us he’s still the main artist in this video. He’s being him
self in this shot which makes it very natural.
23. Red hand showing the art work is still in progress.
Pointing up to the sky to represent heaven.
24. Showing us a hint of the art work produced. It looks as if only Bruno Mars has
produced it at this point as he’s the only one in the shot with the art work so far.
25. Red paint splashed around the place, creating the effect of a mess and possibly the
atmosphere and situation being a mess too.
26. Overall
From looking at Lil Wayne’s music video with Bruno Mars, I’m going to use a few ideas which
they have done for my music video. For example, they’ve used a prop to represent death. This
representation was only from a colour of the prop which can be easily done. They’ve also
used short crops of footage to create a narrative which looks very clever. Not only to create a
narrative but to express the atmosphere in what settings which involve who. I really like this
effect and would like to include it in my music video.
I like the dark colour effect they’ve used in the music video with a bright light behind them
and a red liquid in it a lot of the time. This allows it to contrast with the rest of the music
video which looks very eye appealing.
