4. Manali is a hill station nestled in the mountains of the Indian state of Himachal
Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu Valley in the Beas River Valley. It is
located in the Kullu district. The small town, with a population of 8,096, is the
beginning of an ancient trade route to Ladakh and from there over the Karakoram
Pass on to Yarkand and Khotan in the Tarim Basin
Air
The nearest airport Bhuntar Airport is at Bhuntar town, situated on NH21 about 50 km
(31 mi) south of Manali and 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Kullu town.
Road
Manali can be reached from Delhi by national highway NH 1 up to Chandigarh and from
there by national highway NH21 that passes through Bilaspur, Sundernagar.
Rail
Manali is not easily approachable by rail. The nearest broad gauge railheads are
at Chandigarh around , Pathankot and Kalka. The nearest narrow gauge railhead is
at Joginder Nagar (135 kilometres) .

northwest of Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass.
Bhrigu Lake
Bhrigu Lake is a picturesque mountain lake
located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres
and can be reached by trekking.

The Great Himalayan National Park is home to
numerous species of flora and fauna
Pandoh Dam
The Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam
on the Beas River in Mandi district of
Himachal Pradesh, India.
Rohtang Pass
Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass that
connects Manali to the Lahaul and Spiti
district and also to Ladakh region in Jammu
and Kashmir.

4.SUMMER HILL:- Situated at a distance of 5 km from The Ridge is the lovely township of
Summer Hill, at a height of 6,500 ft on the Shimla-Kalka railway line.
5. THE RIDGE: This large open space in the heart of town presents excellent views of the
mountain ranges. Shimla's landmarks - the neo- gothic structure of Christ Church and the
neo - Tudor library building - are worth seeing.

8. KASHMIR
It is the northernmost state of India. The Mughal
emperor Jahangir said that if paradise is anywhere on
the earth, it is here. The most important tourist places
in Srinagar are the Dal Lake, Mughal
Gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam etc.
DAL LAKE is the largest lake in the state & is
integral to tourism. It is named as "Jewel in the
crown of Kashmir”.
9. GULMARG- It is the “Heartland of Commonwealth
Winter Sports in India” like
skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding and heli-skiing.
There is a cable car system called Gondola which was
built by the French company. It is one of the highest
cable cars in the world.
PAHALGAM- Pahalgam is the world famous hill
station and associated with the annual Amarnath
Yatra. Pahalgam holds a central position in the Lidder
Valley, Betaab Valley and Kolhoi Glacier.
10. MUSSOORIE
Mussoorie is also known as Queen of Hills and is
undoubtedly one of the charming and the most beautiful
hill stations of India.
It is situated at an altitude of 2003 meters in the Garhwal
hills. The name mussoorie is derived from plants of
“mussorie” which were found in abundance here.
11. PLACES TO VISIT
KEMPTY FALLS – The Kempty falls got its name from “camp
tea”.
LAL TIBBA - It is the highest point in Mussoorie providing a
mesmerising view of the Himalayan mountain peaks.
CAMEL BACK ROAD – It is the must visit location in
Mussoorie. One can witness a romantic sunrise and sunset from
this road.
GUNHILL TOP – It is the second highest peak of Mussoorie.
The point also offers a picturesque view of Mussoorie town and
Doon valley.
