Success In 5 Easy Steps Summary
In the manifesto " Success in 5 Easy Steps" by G. Richard Shell, there are perspectives that can be applied to the life of a college student on their path
to success. Right off the bat Shell talks about how he didn't even begin to start on his path to the career and lifestyle he has today until he was in his
late thirties. This relates tremendously to the journey that most college students will take. He explains that you don't have to have it all together and
have an exact plan for success early in life. In college many kids go in thinking that they know exactly what they want to study and expect it to go
exactly as they planned. This however is not the case for most people and some people think it is a sign of unsuccessfulness if they don't

Importance Of Success In Life Essay
Everyone can be successful in life but it requires some responsibilities. Success doesn't happen right away, so it takes time and patience's for things
to fall into place. To have a successful life you must work hard to get where you want to be, it can't just be handed to you for free. One thing is to
never give up on your goals or dreams you want to achieve. When you accomplish great things in life it feels great. A successful student needs to use
self–discipline and making wise decisions.
One thing I've learned is to use self–discipline. This was a good topic to learn about in class because I have always got distracted by things that made
me fall off track. In the book called "On Course Strategies for Creating Success in College and in Life" Skip Downing said "Success takes
self–discipline– the willingness to do whatever has to be done, whether you like it or not, until you reach your goals and dreams." This quote meant a
lot to me during my high school year we had to do a Senior Project, let me just say I really didn't feel like doing it. The more I thought about how
important it was to graduate I got it done on time.
For self–discipline you need to stayed focus. Our inner defender can make us use excuses so we can quit. For example I'm still getting over being
sick, so I'll do it next time for sure. Our inner guide we take responsibility for things so we stay focused. If you're at school you intend to be late to
class, skip class, or don't turn in homework assignments,

My Success: The Definition Of Success
Success is the reason why we wake up in the morning, it is the reason we want to work towards our goals everyday. Most people don't know what
success means to themselves because there is no definition of success. Only you know what is important to yourself. Values change and so do
your goals meaning that the meaning of success changes every day. Success is measured in many ways. By staying motivated and focused, it helps
us feel some type of drive to reach our idea of success. The feeling of excitement helps us constantly feel like we are becoming more and more
successful because we are getting positively reinforced by our work which keeps us working towards our goals. This causes habit to always do the best

I was very involved in my school community and I got an award for showing excellence in the things that I did for the school. I was on the rugby
team for 4 years and by the end of the year I had been rewarded with the Most Valuable Player award. I was also the captain of my team which was a
very big accomplishment. I had the opportunity to lead my team to the Central Ontario Secondary School Association championship tournament
which is the championship tournament that gets the teams into the across Ontario championship title. Unfortunately, we did not get first place
but we did get third place. I still felt successful because along with myself, my team was extremely proud of how far we got as a team. In my opinion
the key to success is passion. If we have strong feelings and we love what we do, the feeling of happiness will fill us. If we love what we do it should
be a heart filling feeling that makes us feel good on the inside which made us feel successful in many ways. "Success is not the key to happiness.
Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."– Herman

My Life And Success And Failure Essay
Introduction Throughout my life I've always been aware that the world has endless opportunities for success and failure. I was born on August
10th, 1994 in a town an hour's drive outside of London, England. My parents raised me but I've always joked that my sister is like my third parent,
even though she is only two and a half years older than me. I have lived in three countries and multiple cities around the world. Constantly moving
as a child caused me to be extremely close to my family and helped me understand the importance of having close relationships with those around
me. Early on in life it was discovered that I had a learning disorder, which would later shape my academic career because it forced me to never give
up. Personal Values Family My core value is family. My parents and sister are a big part of my life and have shaped the person I am today. When I
was six years old we moved to Wales and trying to adjust to the Welsh lifestyle was very difficult. Everyone spoke Welsh and it was difficult to
adjust as an English person. After a few years I felt settled, and that was when my dad told us that he had received a job offer in America. We
packed our stuff up and moved to Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The move was a huge culture shock for all of us. Before we left not even my parents
realized how hard it would be. They had to leave their parents behind and didn't know when they would see them again. Despite the four of us (my
parents, my sister, and I) moving

Why Is It Important To Be Successful?
The most important thing in life is thought to be happiness. In order to achieve success you must adjust to every situation with ease. When we use the
term successful it does not mean the same as the conventional definition. The definition we are referring to is to be able to overcome hardships,
nothing relating to business. Today the world is something of a giant melting pot of people. Communities everywhere are interblended with people
from different places and of different backgrounds. Inside these communities there are also many different mental/physical/physiological disorders and
/or many people with family problems and work problems. Needless to say today's society is one that requires a great many different and specialized

There are three ways in which stress can be beneficial and can have positive effects. Stressful events help to satisfy stimulation and challenge. Stress
can promote personal growth and self–improvement. Finally stress can protect people and harden them so that they are less affected by the next day's
stress.
Since stress is an everyday event and cannot be avoided most times it is important to learn to cope with that stress. One way to cope is by doing
self–talk. Which is fairly self–explanatory. It helps people to see their options more clearly. Another method, which would help, is when people talk
about their stress with friends, family or professionals. Every time someone employs one of these methods it is beneficial to their mental health which
is beneficial to their mental wellness and to the people they interact with. When someone is successful in combating stress it shows throughout other
parts of his or her lives. They experience better health both mentally and physically and from there they are able to be successful at other parts of their
lives. They then are able to adjust using one of the described methods as treatment for any future stressors using this experience as a tool to get through
the next one.
People who are able to adjust to stressful situations are better equipped to cope with extreme situations like depression. Millions of people

The Key to Success in Life Essay
Famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said the way to success is to
"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be
full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the goal
isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as
long as you finish. Success has no definite definition like love it has many different meanings and holds true to different things for different people.

The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing
you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you have
shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's eyes successful. I believe that success is different for
everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under such
terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger
generations eyes this is setting up for disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they practicing
for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their
hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2 hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it can be
argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not
mean other children can not reach success. A study that Gladwell bought up in his book the Outliers, shows that children

Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but
to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the
requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it
changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because
only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful
and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative,
and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise
repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is
expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and
are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Hard Work Is The Key To Success Essay
Hard work is a key to Success (ESSAY) "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" Hard work is the key to success. To succeed in life one
must endure the challenges life presents and work to overcome these challenges to be the best possible person that one can be. We must not only
use hard work to impress those around us but also to achieve goals that we set for ourselves. If we as individuals do not work hard to succeed, then we
do not receive the same satisfaction as we would if we put in hour upon hour or even year upon year of work to achieve our goals. I believe for one to

The secret of success, as many people will agree, is hard work. Evidently, successful people are admired in the society. In many instances, they
make headlines in the mainstream media. However, such people are not many in the society. Many people still struggle to achieve their goals in
life. Others give up, all together, when they attempt without success to achieve their goals. Simply, many people are unable or unwilling to engage
in hard work for them to be successful. "To succeed, work hard and never give up and above all cherish a magnificent obsession" Many people give
up when they do not feel like pursuing their goals or when they experience setbacks at the initial stages of a project. For instance, many people trying
to lose weight may not see the results within the first few weeks of rigorous exercise and dieting. At this stage, unsuccessful people will give up. On
the other hand, hardworking people try to find ways of solving some of the setbacks– instead of giving up. More so, they put in more effort even when
they realize that have slim chances of winning. "Dreams don't work unless you

Essay On Happiness And Success
Although happiness is not merely associated with success, truly successful individuals first find happiness and passion for their life and career. Being
successful does not necessarily mean that one has saved a lot of money or lives a luxurious life. It may mean that one has talented children, good
spouse, attained high academic performance, has promising career, for example. The fact that success brings satisfaction in life makes a person feel
happier because he/she can experience joy from many things that come with personal fulfillment. Although some people may argue that success does
not provide happiness, various factors have shown that successful people are also the happiest.
Having succeeded in various aspects in life means that one...show more content...
Such people will always remain happy because they enjoy what they learn to improve what they have achieved.
Happiness comes when one has attained what he/she wants to attain. People who fail to achieve their desired results even after struggling too much
end up being depressed or developing other symptoms that cannot guarantee them happiness. Attaining success gives a person good moods even
during times of challenges. If, for example, one has succeeded to have a promising job, that person will keep feeling happy even during the times of
setbacks because he/she knows that his present achievements can help to overcome the obstacles that arise in his/her life.
Successful people are also the happiest because they don't expect perfection. In most cases, expecting flawlessness leads to disappointment especially
if the desired outcome does not go according to one's expectations. Successful people are always upbeat because they know that some situations may
make some things not to work according to their wishes. Unsuccessful people will always press things to happen according to their expectations. If
they fail to attain what they desire, they get dissatisfaction which leads to lack of happiness.
Being successful means one is able to overcome factors which prevent happiness. If, for example, one has worked hard in school to attain best grades,
that person will have nothing to worry about because he/she

Dreams and aspirations to succeed in life must always be stronger and greater than the limitations set forth by others. The experiences that were
shown to me during my life thus far has elevated me to the person I am today. I give you the opportunity to see the world from my eyes as being
independent and a hard worker. The decision–making process about what you want to do with your education and career can be intimidating. Whether
you are in high school or college, from my personal experience, you can go through a lot of trial–and–error when going into choosing a career your
passionate about. The decision that I made for my career is Human Resource Management and it involves my love of caring/helping people, critical
thinking, teamwork, leadership and science. Trying to achieve what I wanted to do is wasn't easy – but it's also nothing to be afraid of! Always be
excited about what your future holds! Never let your fear of what could happen hold you back from doing something you love. How I came about
choosing this as my journey to success is a short but interesting story. One day I was browsing the internet and I came across a nearby public event
that held a contest. The contest was a simple essay and a creation of a video with other members at the public event that would show business ethics. I
entered the contest with the best of my ability to win the grand prize of a free round–trip vacation plus experience in the business field. After a couple

"To succeed in life, you need three things: a backbone, a wishbone, and a funny bone" (McEntire). Quotes like these help you step back and evaluate
yourself and your life to see if yours fits. I know that I did that myself when I thought about it. You also have to break them down to see what they
really mean. When you break them down, you can really see what each piece means so hopefully you can understand.
"To succeed in life, you need...a backbone..." (McEntire). My interpretation of "...you need...a backbone..." (McEntire), really is just that you need a
strong work ethic. I believe that if you do not do your own work, and you depend on everyone else doing your work for you, then you will not be
able to do the work yourself when it really counts. A personal example of this would be one of my friends. I have known him for at least three years
now, and since I have known him, he has always been willing to do his own work, and never had an issue. This year, he has started to really goof
off, and not really care about his work. He then looks at me as if he expects me to give him the answers because I have them. I just have gotten to
the point of telling him that I cannot give him the answers because it is cheating, and because he will not know how to do the work when he is
required to do it later on a test. I believe that it is not right to agree to give him the answers because he still is not going to know how to do anything
for himself. Plus, if you think about it, there will

My success to education

Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually
accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great
and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way.
I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I
wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not...show more content...
I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and
everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to
adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed
to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the
changes that come with me returning to school.
One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the
assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my
educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to
keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and
learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree.
I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using the

Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A

Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and
your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life

In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of
promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even
though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that
most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.

Success is not concrete or easily defined. Success is unique to each individual. The most successful person is not always the one with the biggest house
or nicest car. For one to become successful, they must first decide what success is to them. Success is finding one's passion and pursuing it without
restraint. A successfulperson is one who is the best version of themselves. Success is staying true to oneself, and striving for personal improvement
every day, no matter what it looks like to the rest of the world. In order to be successful, one must find a passion and pursue it whole–heartedly. These
passions differ from person to person. They may include health care, law enforcement, or child care; however, they may also be writing, art, or a
trade. In order to identify these passions, one must experiment in various fields. I have been fortunate enough to identify one of my passions very
early in life. I discovered that I am passionate about helping people become as successful as they can be–whatever success may look like to them. To
me, success is becoming a Speech/Language Pathologist and helping children gain confidence and overcome obstacles. However, I have recently
discovered that I am also passionate about volunteering with non–profits in my community. The beauty is that the growth never ends; passion is not
restricted by age or ability. Once a passion is identified, a successful person will pursue it endlessly. The motivation behind this must be a "why"
for why one is doing what they are doing. Having a "why" will be the motivation to keep going when things get tough and obstacles make success
seem unachievable. For me, my why is that I know when I reach my career goals I will be able to encourage and inspire other to reach their goals and
become successful as well. This desire is so strong because I have experienced first–hand how powerful having someone believe in you can be.
Because of my why, I fight through the obstacles in my way. When finances and academic struggles make success seem out of reach, I remember why
I am doing what I am doing, and continue to push through, overcoming them one by one. A successful person will not allow any obstacle to block them
from pursuing their passion. In

Key to Success in Life
"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students" – Solomon Ortiz
Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It's true but not
totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's not the whole thing to make us success.
Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University
Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and
they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in
Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will
have greater future than student who graduate from public university.
Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn't
have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive.
As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because some of achievement people don't graduate from
private university and some of them have the highest education level

My Success In My Life
Life for me was always as a failure. Too ignorant to be smart and too negligent to show my potential. My life was beginning to dry up as it left me
stranded with no hope. I was rotting away under my own weight. But someone came into my life and she taught me the strength to lift myself up. As
time grew with her in my life, my passion to succeed and overcome emerged. My dearest friend gave me the motivation to educate myself, to help
me get a greater understand of my future, as well as making me step outside my comfort zone. With all she has done and inspired me to do, she is my
greatest role model.
The first reason she has impact me, was giving me a reason to want to educate myself. Me and her were different in our own prospective, I was the

JROTC leadership, Best English student, and more, that I could not comprehend. This lead the audience to all applause loudly and cheer, cherishing
her for all she did, even if it was just for that moment. Before this, I did not understand the possibility of why someone would put themselves through

Importance Of Success In Life
Success in my life It is time to speak about the success and its role in the life. To me success mean arrange a plan, make a goal, step toward and
finally achieving goal which affects you and surrounded. Being successful is a great honor and desired version. You basically can be successful in
any certain field that you want. If you try your hardest you surely get success. The following proverb best describes the keys of success: "you reap
what you sow". When you get success, you would feel responsible and it makes you to be more confident and sense of hope forward. John R. Wooden
the great basketball couch created the Pyramid of success which. There are certain traits and characteristic in the Pyramid. Those all are important.
To me three of them are the most important that best define success. They are Confidence, Friendship and Cooperation. I chose these three than
the rest because they kind of assist me to look and feel positively toward my goal. Confidence can have a lot of impact on your soul, Confidence is
helping and supporting yourself. Friendship is part of being success. Having a network is a great way to collect an idea and follow them to reach
your goal. Cooperation also is a key that has a huge advantage. In order to find the best way, you don't have to think by yourself and make
everything possible. Be interested to cooperate and listen to the others then find the best way to step on it. In my opinion the following traits are
pretty smart characters to follow in a being successful Specifically, a success in the movie of Hoosiers had mentioned adorably. The great Indiana
basketball team is known for a huge success that they made and people still remember and appreciate them. The success movement started by the
initiate of the Coach Norman Dale. The previous coach passed away so the new Coach Norman Dale came. Coach Dale was hired by one of his old
friend, he thought this chance might work for him this time. He had banned from coaching after hitting a kid. The small school called Hickory had
only seven players. At the first practice he dismisses one of the player and his friend walks out eiyh him. Dale began working with five players with a

Positive Attitude Essay
Can having a positive attitude bring success into your life? Having a positive attitude can get you far in life. Bringing negativity into your life doesn't
get you anywhere, all it does is makes your life harder. Having a positive attitude may lead to success, happiness, and inspiration. Positivity is a
wonderful trait to carry with you throughout your life. Having a positive attitude makes it easier to avoid worries and negative thoughts that's going on
in your mind. Most importantly, it can bring success into your life. For example, Martin Luther King had a high level of positivity. No matter what was

One day I went to the gym and saw this kid crying in the stands, so I went over to him to see what was wrong. He was upset because no one would

three players to complete the team. As we were playing the other team I realized that he hasn't touched the ball yet and he was wide open, so I
passed it to him and as soon as he touch the ball he scored. Everyone in the gym was so surprised, including myself. The game got better each time
we passed him the ball, and he was having a great time. The opposite team was letting him score because he was new to basketball. It warmed my
heart to see what they were doing for him. Having a positive attitude can be contagious and spread to others. When having a positive attitude it
brings inspiration into your life. If you believe hard enough that you can achieve it, then you will succeed. Negativity will bring you down and
crush all of your dreams. If you are having negative thoughts, all you are doing is bringing yourself down. My freshman year in high school I had
to take my Spanish exam and I was afraid of how poor I would do on the test. That whole week I was thinking about how bad and embarrassing my
test results would look like. The night before the exam, I had just finished studying and my mom had told me" If you believe it, the mind

Success : The Journey To Success In My Life
"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it" (Henry Ford). So many times,
we are too busy worrying about our problems instead of being grateful of what we achieved. I have struggled all my life but I'm thankful of the
journey. It's easy to compare ourselves to someone who has achieved success in our eyes and put ourselves down. We must change our standpoint and
remember where the journey started. Nobody "made it" in one day, success takes hard work, dedication, and perseverance. To be successful, we need
an education and the right people guiding us.
I come from a middle to low class family. My mother raised my siblings and I by herself because my father died in a car accident when I was two years
old. I am the second oldest of my four siblings and the second to go to college. Seeing my mother work so hard in a factory job making mediocre
money for a family of six motivated me. My mother got pregnant with my older brother when she was 17. She decided to drop out of school
because she didn't want to be judged by the other students. She always said that education is important, and we need to go to college, so we can
have a better life. I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't know how. I simply found it impossible because I couldn't ask my mom for help or
anyone in my family because they didn't go to college. Going to college was just a dream and unrealistic in my life.
My social class limited me to

Success In 5 Easy Steps Summary

  • 1. Success In 5 Easy Steps Summary In the manifesto " Success in 5 Easy Steps" by G. Richard Shell, there are perspectives that can be applied to the life of a college student on their path to success. Right off the bat Shell talks about how he didn't even begin to start on his path to the career and lifestyle he has today until he was in his late thirties. This relates tremendously to the journey that most college students will take. He explains that you don't have to have it all together and have an exact plan for success early in life. In college many kids go in thinking that they know exactly what they want to study and expect it to go exactly as they planned. This however is not the case for most people and some people think it is a sign of unsuccessfulness if they don't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Importance Of Success In Life Essay Everyone can be successful in life but it requires some responsibilities. Success doesn't happen right away, so it takes time and patience's for things to fall into place. To have a successful life you must work hard to get where you want to be, it can't just be handed to you for free. One thing is to never give up on your goals or dreams you want to achieve. When you accomplish great things in life it feels great. A successful student needs to use self–discipline and making wise decisions. One thing I've learned is to use self–discipline. This was a good topic to learn about in class because I have always got distracted by things that made me fall off track. In the book called "On Course Strategies for Creating Success in College and in Life" Skip Downing said "Success takes self–discipline– the willingness to do whatever has to be done, whether you like it or not, until you reach your goals and dreams." This quote meant a lot to me during my high school year we had to do a Senior Project, let me just say I really didn't feel like doing it. The more I thought about how important it was to graduate I got it done on time. For self–discipline you need to stayed focus. Our inner defender can make us use excuses so we can quit. For example I'm still getting over being sick, so I'll do it next time for sure. Our inner guide we take responsibility for things so we stay focused. If you're at school you intend to be late to class, skip class, or don't turn in homework assignments, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Success: The Definition Of Success Success is the reason why we wake up in the morning, it is the reason we want to work towards our goals everyday. Most people don't know what success means to themselves because there is no definition of success. Only you know what is important to yourself. Values change and so do your goals meaning that the meaning of success changes every day. Success is measured in many ways. By staying motivated and focused, it helps us feel some type of drive to reach our idea of success. The feeling of excitement helps us constantly feel like we are becoming more and more successful because we are getting positively reinforced by our work which keeps us working towards our goals. This causes habit to always do the best we can to our abilities to be the...show more content... I was very involved in my school community and I got an award for showing excellence in the things that I did for the school. I was on the rugby team for 4 years and by the end of the year I had been rewarded with the Most Valuable Player award. I was also the captain of my team which was a very big accomplishment. I had the opportunity to lead my team to the Central Ontario Secondary School Association championship tournament which is the championship tournament that gets the teams into the across Ontario championship title. Unfortunately, we did not get first place but we did get third place. I still felt successful because along with myself, my team was extremely proud of how far we got as a team. In my opinion the key to success is passion. If we have strong feelings and we love what we do, the feeling of happiness will fill us. If we love what we do it should be a heart filling feeling that makes us feel good on the inside which made us feel successful in many ways. "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."– Herman Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Life And Success And Failure Essay Introduction Throughout my life I've always been aware that the world has endless opportunities for success and failure. I was born on August 10th, 1994 in a town an hour's drive outside of London, England. My parents raised me but I've always joked that my sister is like my third parent, even though she is only two and a half years older than me. I have lived in three countries and multiple cities around the world. Constantly moving as a child caused me to be extremely close to my family and helped me understand the importance of having close relationships with those around me. Early on in life it was discovered that I had a learning disorder, which would later shape my academic career because it forced me to never give up. Personal Values Family My core value is family. My parents and sister are a big part of my life and have shaped the person I am today. When I was six years old we moved to Wales and trying to adjust to the Welsh lifestyle was very difficult. Everyone spoke Welsh and it was difficult to adjust as an English person. After a few years I felt settled, and that was when my dad told us that he had received a job offer in America. We packed our stuff up and moved to Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The move was a huge culture shock for all of us. Before we left not even my parents realized how hard it would be. They had to leave their parents behind and didn't know when they would see them again. Despite the four of us (my parents, my sister, and I) moving Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Why Is It Important To Be Successful? The most important thing in life is thought to be happiness. In order to achieve success you must adjust to every situation with ease. When we use the term successful it does not mean the same as the conventional definition. The definition we are referring to is to be able to overcome hardships, nothing relating to business. Today the world is something of a giant melting pot of people. Communities everywhere are interblended with people from different places and of different backgrounds. Inside these communities there are also many different mental/physical/physiological disorders and /or many people with family problems and work problems. Needless to say today's society is one that requires a great many different and specialized doctors...show more content... There are three ways in which stress can be beneficial and can have positive effects. Stressful events help to satisfy stimulation and challenge. Stress can promote personal growth and self–improvement. Finally stress can protect people and harden them so that they are less affected by the next day's stress. Since stress is an everyday event and cannot be avoided most times it is important to learn to cope with that stress. One way to cope is by doing self–talk. Which is fairly self–explanatory. It helps people to see their options more clearly. Another method, which would help, is when people talk about their stress with friends, family or professionals. Every time someone employs one of these methods it is beneficial to their mental health which is beneficial to their mental wellness and to the people they interact with. When someone is successful in combating stress it shows throughout other parts of his or her lives. They experience better health both mentally and physically and from there they are able to be successful at other parts of their lives. They then are able to adjust using one of the described methods as treatment for any future stressors using this experience as a tool to get through the next one. People who are able to adjust to stressful situations are better equipped to cope with extreme situations like depression. Millions of people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Key to Success in Life Essay Famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said the way to success is to "Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the goal isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as long as you finish. Success has no definite definition like love it has many different meanings and holds true to different things for different people. Although society has its claims on what...show more content... The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you have shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's eyes successful. I believe that success is different for everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under such terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger generations eyes this is setting up for disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they practicing for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2 hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it can be argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not mean other children can not reach success. A study that Gladwell bought up in his book the Outliers, shows that children Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive. By delivering Eric Thomas's speech in his unique hip Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Hard Work Is The Key To Success Essay Hard work is a key to Success (ESSAY) "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" Hard work is the key to success. To succeed in life one must endure the challenges life presents and work to overcome these challenges to be the best possible person that one can be. We must not only use hard work to impress those around us but also to achieve goals that we set for ourselves. If we as individuals do not work hard to succeed, then we do not receive the same satisfaction as we would if we put in hour upon hour or even year upon year of work to achieve our goals. I believe for one to be successful, he must be willing to work hard to succeed in any aspect of life. "Great thing come from hard work and perseverance"...show more content... The secret of success, as many people will agree, is hard work. Evidently, successful people are admired in the society. In many instances, they make headlines in the mainstream media. However, such people are not many in the society. Many people still struggle to achieve their goals in life. Others give up, all together, when they attempt without success to achieve their goals. Simply, many people are unable or unwilling to engage in hard work for them to be successful. "To succeed, work hard and never give up and above all cherish a magnificent obsession" Many people give up when they do not feel like pursuing their goals or when they experience setbacks at the initial stages of a project. For instance, many people trying to lose weight may not see the results within the first few weeks of rigorous exercise and dieting. At this stage, unsuccessful people will give up. On the other hand, hardworking people try to find ways of solving some of the setbacks– instead of giving up. More so, they put in more effort even when they realize that have slim chances of winning. "Dreams don't work unless you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay On Happiness And Success Although happiness is not merely associated with success, truly successful individuals first find happiness and passion for their life and career. Being successful does not necessarily mean that one has saved a lot of money or lives a luxurious life. It may mean that one has talented children, good spouse, attained high academic performance, has promising career, for example. The fact that success brings satisfaction in life makes a person feel happier because he/she can experience joy from many things that come with personal fulfillment. Although some people may argue that success does not provide happiness, various factors have shown that successful people are also the happiest. Having succeeded in various aspects in life means that one...show more content... Such people will always remain happy because they enjoy what they learn to improve what they have achieved. Happiness comes when one has attained what he/she wants to attain. People who fail to achieve their desired results even after struggling too much end up being depressed or developing other symptoms that cannot guarantee them happiness. Attaining success gives a person good moods even during times of challenges. If, for example, one has succeeded to have a promising job, that person will keep feeling happy even during the times of setbacks because he/she knows that his present achievements can help to overcome the obstacles that arise in his/her life. Successful people are also the happiest because they don't expect perfection. In most cases, expecting flawlessness leads to disappointment especially if the desired outcome does not go according to one's expectations. Successful people are always upbeat because they know that some situations may make some things not to work according to their wishes. Unsuccessful people will always press things to happen according to their expectations. If they fail to attain what they desire, they get dissatisfaction which leads to lack of happiness. Being successful means one is able to overcome factors which prevent happiness. If, for example, one has worked hard in school to attain best grades, that person will have nothing to worry about because he/she Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Dreams and aspirations to succeed in life must always be stronger and greater than the limitations set forth by others. The experiences that were shown to me during my life thus far has elevated me to the person I am today. I give you the opportunity to see the world from my eyes as being independent and a hard worker. The decision–making process about what you want to do with your education and career can be intimidating. Whether you are in high school or college, from my personal experience, you can go through a lot of trial–and–error when going into choosing a career your passionate about. The decision that I made for my career is Human Resource Management and it involves my love of caring/helping people, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership and science. Trying to achieve what I wanted to do is wasn't easy – but it's also nothing to be afraid of! Always be excited about what your future holds! Never let your fear of what could happen hold you back from doing something you love. How I came about choosing this as my journey to success is a short but interesting story. One day I was browsing the internet and I came across a nearby public event that held a contest. The contest was a simple essay and a creation of a video with other members at the public event that would show business ethics. I entered the contest with the best of my ability to win the grand prize of a free round–trip vacation plus experience in the business field. • 11. "To succeed in life, you need three things: a backbone, a wishbone, and a funny bone" (McEntire). Quotes like these help you step back and evaluate yourself and your life to see if yours fits. I know that I did that myself when I thought about it. You also have to break them down to see what they really mean. When you break them down, you can really see what each piece means so hopefully you can understand. "To succeed in life, you need...a backbone..." (McEntire). My interpretation of "...you need...a backbone..." (McEntire), really is just that you need a strong work ethic. I believe that if you do not do your own work, and you depend on everyone else doing your work for you, then you will not be able to do the work yourself when it really counts. A personal example of this would be one of my friends. I have known him for at least three years now, and since I have known him, he has always been willing to do his own work, and never had an issue. This year, he has started to really goof off, and not really care about his work. He then looks at me as if he expects me to give him the answers because I have them. I just have gotten to the point of telling him that I cannot give him the answers because it is cheating, and because he will not know how to do the work when he is required to do it later on a test. I believe that it is not right to agree to give him the answers because he still is not going to know how to do anything for himself. My Success Story Essay My success to education Blondie Torres ENG. 121 Concetta Williams July 18, 2011 Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way. I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I wanted to change that life style for good. I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the changes that come with me returning to school. One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first –

  • 15. Success is not concrete or easily defined. Success is unique to each individual. The most successful person is not always the one with the biggest house or nicest car. For one to become successful, they must first decide what success is to them. Success is finding one's passion and pursuing it without restraint. A successfulperson is one who is the best version of themselves. Success is staying true to oneself, and striving for personal improvement every day, no matter what it looks like to the rest of the world. In order to be successful, one must find a passion and pursue it whole–heartedly. These passions differ from person to person. They may include health care, law enforcement, or child care; however, they may also be writing, art, or a trade. In order to identify these passions, one must experiment in various fields. I have been fortunate enough to identify one of my passions very early in life. I discovered that I am passionate about helping people become as successful as they can be–whatever success may look like to them. To me, success is becoming a Speech/Language Pathologist and helping children gain confidence and overcome obstacles. However, I have recently discovered that I am also passionate about volunteering with non–profits in my community. The beauty is that the growth never ends; passion is not restricted by age or ability. Once a passion is identified, a successful person will pursue it endlessly. The motivation behind this must be a "why" for why one is doing what they are doing. Having a "why" will be the motivation to keep going when things get tough and obstacles make success seem unachievable. For me, my why is that I know when I reach my career goals I will be able to encourage and inspire other to reach their goals and become successful as well. This desire is so strong because I have experienced first–hand how powerful having someone believe in you can be. Because of my why, I fight through the obstacles in my way. When finances and academic struggles make success seem out of reach, I remember why I am doing what I am doing, and continue to push through, overcoming them one by one. A successful person will not allow any obstacle to block them from pursuing their passion. In Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Key to Success in Life "Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students" – Solomon Ortiz Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It's true but not totally true. Education is one part of successful. It's not the whole thing to make us success. Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will have greater future than student who graduate from public university. Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn't have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive. As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? • 17. My Success In My Life Life for me was always as a failure. Too ignorant to be smart and too negligent to show my potential. My life was beginning to dry up as it left me stranded with no hope. I was rotting away under my own weight. But someone came into my life and she taught me the strength to lift myself up. As time grew with her in my life, my passion to succeed and overcome emerged. My dearest friend gave me the motivation to educate myself, to help me get a greater understand of my future, as well as making me step outside my comfort zone. With all she has done and inspired me to do, she is my greatest role model. The first reason she has impact me, was giving me a reason to want to educate myself. Me and her were different in our own prospective, I was the dumb failure who lacked the motivation to succeed in higher education while she was the A honor roll in everything student, in fact she got the most awards in her class year then everyone else. While attending her award ceremony, all I heard for each student was, "Congrats *blank* *blank* you received the attendance award for not missing any school." Then she came on stage, not receiving the attendance award, but fulfilling A honor roll, JROTC leadership, Best English student, and more, that I could not comprehend. This lead the audience to all applause loudly and cheer, cherishing her for all she did, even if it was just for that moment. Before this, I did not understand the possibility of why someone would put themselves through the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

One day I went to the gym and saw this kid crying in the stands, so I went over to him to see what was wrong. He was upset because no one would pick him on their team and he really wanted to play, so I told him that he could play with me on my team. It was our turn to play, we added an extra three players to complete the team. As we were playing the other team I realized that he hasn't touched the ball yet and he was wide open, so I passed it to him and as soon as he touch the ball he scored. Everyone in the gym was so surprised, including myself. The game got better each time we passed him the ball, and he was having a great time. The opposite team was letting him score because he was new to basketball. It warmed my heart to see what they were doing for him. Having a positive attitude can be contagious and spread to others. When having a positive attitude it brings inspiration into your life. If you believe hard enough that you can achieve it, then you will succeed. • 20. Success : The Journey To Success In My Life "When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it" (Henry Ford). So many times, we are too busy worrying about our problems instead of being grateful of what we achieved. I have struggled all my life but I'm thankful of the journey. It's easy to compare ourselves to someone who has achieved success in our eyes and put ourselves down. We must change our standpoint and remember where the journey started. Nobody "made it" in one day, success takes hard work, dedication, and perseverance. To be successful, we need an education and the right people guiding us. I come from a middle to low class family. My mother raised my siblings and I by herself because my father died in a car accident when I was two years old. I am the second oldest of my four siblings and the second to go to college. Seeing my mother work so hard in a factory job making mediocre money for a family of six motivated me. My mother got pregnant with my older brother when she was 17. She decided to drop out of school because she didn't want to be judged by the other students. She always said that education is important, and we need to go to college, so we can have a better life. I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't know how. I simply found it impossible because I couldn't ask my mom for help or anyone in my family because they didn't go to college. Going to college was just a dream and unrealistic in my life. My social class limited me to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
