A handful of buildpacks & services has developed into a diverse ecosystem of 35+ buildpacks & hundreds of services across Cloud Foundry’s various deployments
Advanced features around runtime (Diego), load balancing & HA, OCI-based containers, DevOps (BOSH), security & networking, service broker, metering & billing (IBM initiated project)
There are over 185 discrete projects either active or incubating within the foundation
Together, the community has invested over $455 million in shared development
Today there are over 2500 individual contributors to the Cloud Foundry Project

The Cloud Foundry user community grew to 173 self-organized local groups, attracting more than 33,400 members from 105 cities in 48 countries across 6 continents.
Corporate adoption continues to grow
Seven of the world’s leading commercial cloud offerings (CenturyLink’s AppFog, HPE Helion Cloud Foundry, Huawei FusionStage, IBM Bluemix, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, SAP HANA® Cloud Platform and Swisscom Application Cloud) are the first products to receive the Cloud Foundry PaaS Certification
The platform has become a critical part of infrastructure for vertical industry cloud providers and leaders including GE Predix for Industrial IoT, BNY Mellon’s Nexen financial services cloud, and Huawei FusionStage for telecommunications.
The Cloud Foundry platform is seeing strong adoption in the Government Cloud space, supporting projects such as the US Government’s 18F project – which runs its cloud.gov service on Cloud Foundry, China’s Smart City Initiatives, the UK Government and Korea’s NIA.
Cloud Foundry and Cloud Foundry-based solutions are quickly becoming the platform of choice for an ever-growing list of leaders in industry and innovation including Ford Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citi, RBC, Garmin, Angie’s List, Capital One, Allstate, Philips, NBC Universal, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, dorma+kaba and others.
More than 40 engineers from 9 companies have completed the Dojo process, resulting in more than 100 full-time dedicated committers working on the project.
