 Core duties include:
o Conduct new employee orientation including the explanation of policies,
benefits, work environment and employer expectations.
o Enroll new employees in elected benefits and communicate with each provider
regarding employee selections.
• Maintain an up to date library of benefit forms for enrollment and changes for
each provider.
o Review monthly benefit statements from providers, processing all changes to
benefit elections through the provider and the payroll department and ensuring
prompt payment to the provider.
o Review the benefit programs annually, arranging renewal quotes with current
vendors and outside vendors to assure the most competitive package.
• Maintain ongoing relationship with benefit vendors and serve as liaison for
employee inquiries.
o Implement and oversee federal and state mandated training as well as
additional company required training programs.
o Serve as the employee contact for complaints, conduct investigations and
resolve employee concerns in a legal and fair fashion.
o Maintain and update confidential employee files.
o Respond to unemployment inquiries.
o Review and revise company policies annually.
o Review all job descriptions and revise as needed.
o Confer with eleven department heads regarding steps of progressive discipline
and assist in termination or disciplinary process as needed.
o Review and facilitate FMLA leave and ADA accommodations including tracking
time off and maintaining records.
o Conduct exit interviews and gather necessary data to establish trends.
o Keep apprised of changing legislation and reforms affecting company policies
and advise on compliance strategies.
o Review annual benefits budgets and forecast for coming year.
o Plan and coordinate special events for employees and coordinate the
company’s community involvement (IE: Christmas party, health fairs, luncheons,
parades, etc).

o 2002 Modified and updated Family and Medical Leave, COBRA and Worker
Compensation policies including administration and staff education.
o 2002-2005 Organize and oversee Employee Focus Group to solicit employee
input and coordinate with company goals.

o 2003 Received certification in Predictive Index Behavior Assessment tools.
o 2003 Revised recruitment techniques and policies to include the use of various
venues of advertising, job fairs and networking.
• Implement and oversee hiring process through use of application logs,
background checks, and interviews.
• Track recruitment and retention, assessing trends and methods to improve
employee retention.
o 2005 implemented the company’s Affirmative Action Program in conjunction
with state awarded contracts.
