2. You can take a healthy well-functioning person, place them into
a dysfunctional system (e.g., a relationship, team, culture) and
over time that dysfunctional system will begin to erode the
healthy elements of that person’s well-functioning self

The team research to-date is not so good in
knowing who gets along with others.
When people are placed in a pressure cooker,
they do one of three things:
1. Point fingers at other crew members
2. Collectively point fingers to mission control

Two key success criteria:
1. Equality on conversational turn-taking
2. High average social sensitivity

DON’T WANT
1. Contribute nothing
2. Control everything
3. Claim anything
DO WANT
1. Contribute positively
2. Constructive conflict
3. Celebrate others

The Problem / Opportunity
Can we socially and technically engineer design thinking /
empathy for a team context, which delivers on:
1. Google’s success criteria for perfect teams; and
2. NASA’s research to predict and prevent the contributing
factors that could jeopardise a team’s effectiveness.
The Solution

COLLABORATE LIVE
What is required to successfully collaborate and
build a team culture in this new future of disruption?

Most problems that we collectively agree on
can be solved. What stops us implementing
the solutions is rarely a technical issue but an
issue of human dynamics. Dynamics, which
exist and are similar at all levels of society,
even when you’re the President of the USA.
