5. SISS is the Swedish government’s
International awards scheme aimed at young talented
professionals who are creative, curious and motivated, and
who show expertise and excellence in their academic fields.
The Swedish Institute (SI) intends to build a strong global
network of talented people willing to contribute to and take an
active role in the development of a sustainable future, both
locally and globally.
6. Master’s degree level
About 300 scholarships globally per year
1/3 of the number of scholarships is allocated
for 8 priority countries including Indonesia
(no quota per country, it depends on the quality of applications)
7. The SI Study Scholarships cover:
• Tuition fees to the Swedish university
• Monthly stipend of SEK 9 000 to cover living expenses
• A one-time travel grant of SEK 15 000
• Insurance
8. Four formal conditions
for scholarships:
• Applicants must apply and be accepted to a Swedish university within a
relevant master’s programme
• Applicants must have at least two years’ relevant work experience
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership skills
• Applicants may not have lived for more than two years in Sweden
previously, or hold a degree from a Swedish university
