ADELAIDE SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL (ASI)
The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas
postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research
efforts.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students who have successfully completed at least the
equivalent of an Australian First Class Honors degree. Generally applicants who succeed in winning an
ASI scholarship have completed a master’s degree including a significant research component and have
several publications and relevant work and research experience.
•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded course tuition fees for two years for a master’s degree by research
and three years for a doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);

MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
The International Undergraduate Scholarships were established by the University of Melbourne in
recognition of the significant contribution made by international students to the diversity of the university’s
student population.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of countries other than Australia and New Zealand and
are not a permanent resident of Australia; Applicants must have received an unconditional offer for an
undergraduate course and must have achieved excellent final year school results.
•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded one of the following benefits: a one off $10,000 fee remission from
tuition fees in the first year of an undergraduate degree; or a 50% remission from tuition fees for the
normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree; or a 100% remission from tuition fees for the
normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree.

The Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s competitive,

LA TROBE COLLEGE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
The La Trobe College Excellence Scholarship (CES) is a scholarship available to international students to cover
tuition fees for high-achieving international students accepted into their undergraduate and postgraduate
coursework programs.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of a country other than Australia or New Zealand who
are applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program in 2017.
•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded between 15%, 20% and 25% deduction on annual tuition fees for
the duration of their studies and are limited in number.

gement (MIWM) at The University of Queensland in Australia.

The Monash University Scholarship program offers over 200 scholarships for new and current students.

must be an international student; commencing a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework)
degree at a Monash campus in Australia (you must have received a full Monash course offer); must not

or be sponsored by other bodies/institutions.

AUSTRALIA RESEARCH TRAINING PROGRAM (RTP) SCHOLARSHIPS
The RTP provides block grants, on a calendar year basis, to higher education providers (HEPs) to support both
domestic and overseas students undertaking research doctorate and research master’s degrees, known as
higher degrees by research (HDRs).
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to domestic or overseas students enrolled in an accredited HDR
course of study at an Australian HEP.

HUMBER INTERNATINAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
Humber College in Toronto, Canada offers full and partial tuition scholarships to international undergraduate
students. The scholarships are divided throughout their three semester intakes each year (Winter, Summer,
Fall). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters
and statement of interest.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to students coming directly from high school/secondary
school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in
Humber’s EAP program), and are unlimited in quantity. Humber awards degree scholarships
automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement.
•	 AWARD: Humber College offers two full tuition scholarships and one scholarship worth $5,000 CAD.
The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees. The scholarships are
renewable, but the student must maintain a minimum average of 75% in order to be eligible for renewal.

YORK UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
York University in Ontario, Canada offers the Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships and the International
Entrance Scholarships to international students for full time undergraduate study.

ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS (IMES)
IMES is a merit based scholarship for students who are offered admission at the University of British Columbia.
Students must be on a study permit and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.

UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE FELLOWHIPS
The Government of Manitoba has provided funds to ensure that Manitoba’s best students continue education
at home, to foster research that leads to economic growth and to attract excellent students to study in Manitoba.

The Graduate Global Leadership Fellowships enable promising leaders from developing countries to pursue
doctoral studies at UBC. The fellowships are to support international students showing outstanding
leadership in humanitarian and development work in their home country. Graduate Global Leadership
Fellowships thus open the way to a world-class graduate education for emerging scholars from countries
with developing educational systems.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to students who hold a study permit at the beginning of the
fellowship funding period; are citizens of a developing country at the time of application for admission;
have shown outstanding leadership in humanitarian and development work in their home country; are
starting a PhD or DMA program at the UBC Vancouver campus in January 2017, May 2017, or September
2017; are starting their first doctoral degree; students with external funding (external scholarships,
third-party sponsorship, etc.) are eligible to apply, but if successful, recipients will have their Graduate
Global Leadership Fellowship funding reduced by the amount of their external funding.

FINCAD established FINCAD’s Women in Finance scholarship to support oustanding women in the field of
finance, especially in the field of derivates and financial risk management. It is also designed to give women

Scholarship Guide: Studying in China
MOFCOM SCHOLARSHIP
MOFCOM Scholarship is set up by the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China to further
strengthen the communication and cooperation between China and other countries, as well as to develop
talents for developing countries. Starting from 2015, MOFCOM Scholarship mainly sponsors the young and
the middle-aged talents from recipient countries to pursue their postgraduate degree education in China
and entrusts China Scholarship Council to administer the Scholarship.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students meeting the following requirements: be a citizen of a
country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health; be a bachelor’s degree holder
when applying for master’s program; be a master’s degree holder when applying for doctoral program;
be under the age of 45 when applying; have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the
academic requirements of the program. English: IETS 6.0 or above, Chinese: HSK level 4 (score180) or

CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP
For the purpose of supporting the development of Confucius Institutes, facilitating international promotion
of the Chinese language and dissemination of Chinese culture.

SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN FINLAND
FINNISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Finnish government offers scholarships of 3-9 months for Doctoral level studies and research at Finnish
universities or public research universities. The Finnish government scholarship pool program is open to
young researchers from all academic fields. The scholarship does not apply to master’s level studies, post
doctoral studies, or research.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students who have been at least provisionally accepted either
as a visiting Doctoral-level student/researcher, or as a full-time Doctoral degree student. For full eligibility

ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTER’S DEGREES
An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD), is a prestigious, integrated, international study program,
jointly delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions. EMJMDs award EU-funded
scholarships to the best student candidates applying under annual selection rounds.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to applicants who have obtained a first higher education degree
or demonstrate a recognized equivalent level of learning, according to national legislation and practices,
in the degree-awarding countries.
•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded participation costs (including the tuition fees, library and laboratory
costs, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to your participation in the master’s);
it represents a contribution to your travel and installation costs and includes a monthly subsistence
allowance for the entire duration of the study program.

FULBRIGHT FINLAND U.S. STUDENT PROGRAM
The Fulbright Finland awards grants to U.S. students who hold a minimum of bachelor’s degree. Academically
talented graduating seniors may also apply before having the degree in hand.

•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded €1,000 – €1,500 EUR per month. Grantees also receive a travel

AALTO UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Aalto University scholarship program seeks to recognize talented non-EU/EEA students from across the
world by awarding academic excellence scholarships. These scholarships are merit based and are granted
on a competitive basis. The number is limited depending on the overall number of selected non-EU/EEA
students per degree program.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EU/EEA citizens. Only students who are liable to pay tuition
at Aalto University are eligible to apply for Aalto University scholarships.
•	 AWARD: Recipients will be awarded either 50% or 100% coverage of their tuition.

Hanken school of Economics offers schemes for non-EU/EEA students that are based on merit and offer

Scholarship Guide: Studying in France
EIFFEL SCHOLARSHIPS IN FRANCE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
International Development to enable French higher education establishments to attract top foreign students
to enrol in their master’s and PhD courses. It helps to shape future foreign decision-makers in the
private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applications from emerging countries
at master’s level, and from emerging and industrialized countries at PhD level.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to candidates of non-French nationality. Candidates with two

Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy scholarship after the founder of Sciences Po (1871) in order to
welcome the very best international students from outside of the European Union. The Emile Boutmy
Scholarship is awarded to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and
individual course requirements.

The Deutschlandstipendium provides financial and non-material support to high-achieving and committed
students from all over the world. Modelled after the principle of public-private partnership, businesses,
foundations or private individuals sponsor young talent with a pledge of 150 euros per month. The Federal
Government matches this amount with another 150 euros. But there is even more: Many universities and

GEORG FORSTER RESEARCH AWARD
The Georg Forster Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date to
academics of all disciplines whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant
impact on their own discipline and beyond and who are expected to continue developing research-based
solutions to the specific challenges facing transition and developing countries.
•	 ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to nationals of a developing or transition country (excluding
People’s Republic of China and India). Furthermore, at the time of nomination, they must have had their

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The
core mission of the program is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage

educational cooperation agreements signed between the Ministries responsible for education in the sending

STUDENTS IN HUNGARY
The Biological research center is offering fellowships to conduct selected research programs in contemporary
biology under the supervision of research staff of the BRC.

in natural, medical, agricultural or veterinary sciences. The official language of the course is English.

RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
International students who apply to study at Russian universities are eligible to apply for state funded
scholarships that are a limited number. There is a competitive selection for the scholarship (quota for
international students) which is organized by Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices around the world.
In the countries where Rossotrudnichestvo is not represented, the competitive selection is organized by
Russian diplomatic missions (embassies or consulates).

of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each faculty department. The type of

programs with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 80 percent or higher of the scale maximum

The scholarships are divided throughout their three semester intakes each year (Winter, Summer, Fall).
