Editor's Notes
Women in developing countries usually have limited opportunities for career development. For a long time, it is said that their main and most important responsibilities are doing house works and taking care of their children. There has been no exception in Vietnam. Even Vietnamese women with great leadership characters normally have little opportunity to contribute to the community. Most of the cases, their husbands want them to be focused and devote their time to family works. The TAG Vietnam wants to make a difference, to promote gender equality by providing Vietnamese female students with opportunities to develop their IT and leadership skills, which are most critical skills for career success in 21 st century. TAG Vietnam will make Vietnamese girls change the traditional thoughts, help them be more confident that they can also become great leaders at their communities. The goal of TAG is: Enable TAG participants to discover new abilities, develop professional skills, and gain the confidence and inspiration necessary to prepare for their future employment and to become leaders in their communities Provide training, support, and encouragement to a competitively selected cadre of socially active female high school students, ultimately promoting an expanded role for women in their communities and in the IT field. Facilitate the contribution of young women’s voices to public discussion on critical issues and increase the level of online local language content from girls’ perspectives.
